Costco’s holiday toys aren’t published in a handy toy catalog like the Target Top Toy List or the Walmart Toy List. But Costco toys still bring the heat, especially when you compare their sale prices to other stores.
If you’re hunting for Lego sets, rare Squishmallows, Disney Princess dolls, or Hot Wheels, you might need to make a special trip to Costco for your Christmas list — and soon. Some Costco toy deals are only available in the store, which isn’t a bad thing considering you can swing by the Costco bakery for a treat.
Since Costco toy deals are already starting to pop up for 2023, it’s time to do a deep dive into everything you need to know about their toy sales. And heck, even if you’re not a Costco member yet, these toy deals may make it worth it to sign up for a membership this shopping season.

Can you buy Costco toys without a membership?
Yes, there are actually a few ways to shop at Costco without a membership, but it’s not as easy as grabbing a cart and walking into the warehouse. To shop at Costco without a membership, you’ll need to get your hands on a Costco Shop Card. Ask a friend with a membership to buy one for you and you’re good to go.
You can also shop online at Costco.com without a membership, but you’ll pay a 5% surcharge on your purchase. And non-members don’t have access to the same Instant Savings (aka sale prices) that Costco members get.
Costco holiday toys start to arrive in September, with the deals ramping up in October.
The first toys you’ll see at Costco — usually Lego sets and American Girl dolls — pop up in stores as early as mid- to late August. And the rest of the toys begin to roll in soon after that.
Of course, Costco won’t stock every single toy for the season (since their warehouse space is limited), but they will have a lot of the hottest ones at competitive prices. And the deals get even better once we reach late October, when they start slashing prices on select toys with Instant Savings offers from the Costco Coupon Book.
Look for these price points to know you’re getting a good deal at Costco:
- 16-inch Squishmallows — $11.99 each
- Cabbage Patch Kids 3-Pack — as low as $19.99
- Funko Pop 4-Pack — as low as $19.99
- 5-inch Squishmallows 8-Pack — as low as $21.99
- Mini Brands 8-Pack Disney Store Capsules — as low as $34.99
- 20-inch Squishmallows — as low as $24.99
- 24-inch Squishmallows — as low as $36.99
- Lego 1700-piece sets — as low as $39.99

TIP: You can always take advantage of the Costco price adjustment policy if the price for any of these toys changes in the next 30 days.
Costco toy deals are up to 27% cheaper than Amazon (so always price compare).
And sometimes, the discounts can be even higher — up to 50%! Like we saw with the Star Wars Grogu Bundle last year, which was only $9.99 compared to the $28.72 price on Amazon.
Current Costco deals that are cheaper than Amazon:
Stock up on toys from Costco.com in late October — we often see a “Buy Four, Save $30” sale.
In 2022, we shared a hot toy sale they offered on Costco.com where you could save $30 if you bought four eligible toys between Oct. 25 and Nov. 13, 2022. Even though you’ll get a better deal on toys if you shop in the store vs. online, in this case, the price per toy was worth doing some Costco online shopping.
Here are a few of the toys that were included in last year’s online toy sale:
- Mandalorian Lenticular Twin Pack Puzzles, reg. $9.97 online
- Machine Maker Construction Mega City Service Team 39-Piece Set, reg. $18.99 online
- Disney Princess Doll Tea Time, reg. $19.99 online
- The Child 9″ Remote Control, reg. $19.99 online
- Care Bear 3-Pack Snuggle Friends, reg. $24.97 online
TIP: For 16-inch Squishmallows, we’ve also seen online-only Costco promotions like “2 for $20” or “4 for $30,” which can save you up to 50% per toy.
Some toys are exclusive to Costco — like the new Costco Monopoly game and the giant teddy bear.
The new Costco Monopoly game will eventually make its way to warehouse locations (and most likely for a cheaper price), but for now, it’s online only. Tokens are themed for familiar Costco favorites like a pizza slice, a forklift, a hot dog combo, and a shopping cart.
And as for the giant Costco teddy bear, he’s quite the investment at $399, but he towers 7.75 feet high and clocks in at 48.5 pounds.
TIP: You’ll find a cheaper price for the giant teddy bear if you look for used ones on Facebook Marketplace. Just search for “giant costco bear,” and you’ll likely see listings for $175 – $250.
The Lego Advent calendars include toys (but they sell out fast).
Costco releases new Advent calendars in stores around the second week of September, and Lego calendars are always included in the new haul. While Costco Advent calendars can range in price from $17.89 all the way up to $99.99, you’ll pay $34.99 for the Lego set, which comes out to $1.46 per toy.
