With retailers almost entirely relying on their websites these days, you might be wondering whether some of your favorite seasonal sales will continue.
We’ve compiled a list of some of the spring and summer’s biggest sales, as well as what we know about their status. Keep tabs here, though; many retailers have promised more details as we get closer to their typical sale dates.
Note: All of these sales are expected online. If your store is open, please take precautions to practice social distancing by using curbside pickup, delivery, or shipping.
ULTA Gorgeous Hair Event probably will happen in 2020.
2019 Dates: May 12-June 1
Since ULTA didn’t blink at making its 21 Days of Beauty Sale go digital, there’s no reason to think they wouldn’t continue their much-loved sales. Email subscribers didn’t get a notice about the 21 Days sale until the day before it started, so wait to hear until mid- or late May.
Home Depot Memorial Day Sale will not happen in 2020.
2019 Dates: May 17-29
On April 1, Home Depot announced that as part of their social distancing policies, they’ve suspended all major spring promotions to discourage crowds. They cancelled Spring Black Friday — one of their biggest sales of the year — and the Memorial Day Sale is out, too.
Lowe’s Memorial Day Sale probably will happen.
2019 Dates: May 23-June 5
Hard to tell what Lowe’s is going to do. They still held their in-store Spring Black Friday sale, but then closed stores for Easter Sunday (something they didn’t do in prior years). But the fact that Lowe’s kept its Spring Black Friday sale going means there will probably be in-store sales on grills, lawn care equipment and more.
Victoria’s Secret Semi-Annual Sale 2020 is on — details coming.
2019 Dates: June 3-24
Victoria’s Secret hasn’t made an announcement just yet, but a recent tweet back to Krazy Coupon Lady shows they haven’t cancelled it. Victoria’s Secret encourages email subscribers to pay attention to their inboxes in the coming days/weeks.
Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale will happen in 2020.
2019 Dates: June 9-July 7
Bath & Body Works has been busy on their website, alerting shoppers of flash sales, free gifts with purchase, and more. They tweeted us a response similar to their sister company, Victoria’s Secret. The fact that the Semi-Annual Sale was online last year makes it seem all but confirmed for 2020.
Old Navy Flip-Flop Sale probably will happen.
2019 Date: June 15
Old Navy told us that they aren’t making any announcements about the flip-flop sale just yet, but the store is actively promoting sales. Since flip-flops are readily available on the Old Navy website now for $3, and the sale was also online in the past, there’s no reason to think that $1 flip-flops won’t be available.
ULTA Jumbo Love Liter Sale probably will happen in 2020.
2019 Dates: June 30-July 27
The twice-a-year event gives shoppers the lowest prices of the season on its “jumbo size” containers of shampoo, conditioner, and more. This sale isn’t nearly as big as 21 Days of Beauty, and since ULTA still pulled that off, you can probably get your liters of shampoo this July.
Amazon Prime Day 2020 is postponed until at least August.
2019 Dates: July 15-16
Internal meeting notes indicate that Prime Day is postponed until at least August, but there may still be a way to get a discount on an Amazon device.
Amazon is experiencing some crazy times, with delays, inventory shortages, and the de-prioritization of non-essential items, but earlier internal documents seemed to suggest that Amazon was planning to continue with its 48-hour mid-July shopping event. No official reschedule dates have been announced yet.
Target Semi-Annual Toy Sale probably will happen.
2019 Dates: July 15-16
Toys are one of the most popular items right now in a quarantined world, and the Target Semi-Annual Toy Sale is one of the most popular sales at Target each year. Target has stopped its weekly ads and has instead released a digital, online-focused weekly ad that recently advertised an Easter sale.
