How to Coupon at Walgreens In-Store

Shopping in-store is a great way to maximize your savings as you get to take advantage of both Register Rewards and Walgreens Cash, plus digital coupons and paper coupons. (Register Reward deals MUST be done in-store.)
Plan your in-store shopping trip. Start by checking the weekly ad for promotions. And keep an eye out for sale tags in-store that indicate if an item is on sale, on clearance, has a Register Reward or Walgreens Cash promo, or is part of a BOGO (buy one get one free) promotion.
Check your Walgreens app for digital coupons, and clip them so they're in your account. Enter your phone number at checkout, and any clipped coupons will come off automatically.
You can use paper coupons in-store too (coupons clipped from the Sunday newspaper coupon inserts, coupons that you print at home, etc.). Just hand the cashier any paper coupons when you check out.
Spend Deal vs. Buy Deal Promotions In-Store
When doing a deal at Walgreens in person, it's important to check whether it's a spend deal or a buy deal. What's the difference?
Spend Deals
Spend deals require you to spend a set amount of money. The amount you spend is calculated after store sales, Walgreens Cash, and store coupons, but before manufacturer coupons and Register Rewards. (Manufacturer coupons and Register Rewards are like cash and won’t affect your spending threshold on a spend deal.) But avoid using Walgreens Cash to pay on a spend deal — it may disqualify you.
Spend Deal Examples:
Spend $15, get $5 Register Rewards
Spend $45, get $15 Walgreens Cash
Buy Deals
These are simpler than the spend deals — just buy the specified quantity and earn the rewards.
Buy Deal Examples:
Buy 4, get $4 Walgreens Cash
Buy 2, get $6 Register Rewards
Example: In-Store Deal
Check out this in-store shopping haul. If you bought all these products in the store and clipped digital coupons from the Walgreens app, you'd receive a total of $8 Register Rewards and $5 Walgreens cash.
