On April 29, 2023, the YMCA will host their annual Healthy Kids Day events across the country — focusing on improving the health and well-being of kids and families. The best part? It’s completely free to attend and offers a fun opportunity for families to get active together.
During Healthy Kids Day, you can participate in a variety of activities, workshops, and educational resources that focus on physical activity, healthy eating, and positive lifestyle choices.

Like they’ve done every year since 1992, the YMCA is welcoming kids and families free of charge for Healthy Kids Day — Saturday, April 29, 2023.
As if that’s not big enough news — a typical day pass to a Y costs between $5 – $20, depending on your age and club location — Healthy Kids Day features a variety of activities and resources for families to enjoy such as free health screenings and fitness classes.
What kinds of things can people do on Healthy Kids Day?

On Healthy Kids Day, people can participate in a wide variety of activities that promote physical activity, healthy eating, and overall wellness. Some common activities that YMCAs may offer during Healthy Kids Day include:
- Fitness classes: Many YMCAs offer free fitness classes on Healthy Kids Day, such as yoga, Zumba, or dance classes, to encourage kids to get moving and try new activities.
- Sports and games: Children can participate in a range of outdoor and indoor sports and games, such as basketball, soccer, or relay races.
- Workshops and educational activities: YMCAs may offer workshops or educational activities that teach children about healthy eating, cooking, gardening, or other aspects of wellness.
- Health screenings: Some YMCAs may offer free health screenings, such as BMI or blood pressure checks, to help families monitor their health and wellness.
