Step 1: Sign up
To sign up for SurveySavvy, you just have to fill out a brief registration form on their site. After that you will start receiving your survey invitations in your email inbox. Since SurveySavvy sends a fair number of surveys — I get about three or four survey invites a week — you might want to create a separate email account or designate a folder in your inbox to be used specifically for surveys.
Step 2: Complete your member portrait
After you sign up, it's a good idea to complete your "member portrait.” The member portrait is basically your profile. Add info like your income, gender, marital status, age, hobbies and interests. Surveys will be based on your portrait, so the more information you include, the more surveys you will qualify for. They aren't trying to stalk you — if SurveySavvy knows your tastes and what demographic you fall in, they will know what surveys to match you with.
Step 3: Start taking surveys
When SurveySavvy has a survey that matches your interests, they will email you a survey invitation. When you follow the link, they’ll ask you a few screening questions about your age, gender, income, etc. to make sure you are eligible. If you qualify (and you typically will if you have completed your portrait), you can complete the survey. In my experience, each survey — topics range from eye creams to magazines — takes about 20 to 25 minutes to finish. I have never received a survey that paid less than $1. In fact, most of them fall in the $2 to $5 range! The longer the survey is, the more you are usually paid. The surveys will expire after a specified length of time, so be sure to complete them as soon as you see them pop up in your inbox!
Step 4: Claim your rewards
SurveySavvy offers great rewards! It has one of the lowest minimum payment thresholds of any paid survey site I've used. Once you have accumulated at least $1 in your account, you can request a check by clicking on "My Account" and selecting "Request Payment." SurveySavvy will send a physical check to the mailing address on your profile. This takes about a month — but you can basically request that SurveySavvy pay you after just one survey! On average, I've made about $30 a month using SurveySavvy. Certainly worth a few minutes of my time each day!
SurveySavvy also offers a referral program. Every time someone you refer gets paid for completing a survey, you will earn a referral reward (usually about 15 percent of what your friend recieves). You even get paid for friends that they refer! If you are good at recruiting others, the referral program is an awesome way to make some extra money!
