National Free Shipping Day was a website launched in 2008 and has brought hundreds of retailers together to offer no-cost delivery to shoppers, many with guaranteed delivery by Christmas Eve. Sadly, the website FreeShippingDay.com is no longer. The website creators shut it down in 2018 after a decade of helping shoppers get their last-minute holiday items — noting on the way out that they were “ready to settle in for a long winter’s nap.”
The good news is we expect some retailers to continue offering a day of free shipping, despite the now defunct website.

It’s getting down to the wire with regard to the holiday shopping season, and Free Shipping Day is when some retailers give free shipping as an incentive to make last-minute transactions.
KCL predicts the next Free Shipping Day will be Friday, Dec. 13, 2024.
There haven’t been any official announcements yet about the date of the next Free Shipping Day, but based on what they've done in recent years, we here at KCL predict that it’ll take place Friday, Dec. 13, 2024.
How do we make our prediction?
This event is always in mid-December — and while it typically falls on Dec. 14 each year, that’s a Saturday in 2024. Last year, the 14th was a Thursday, which makes more sense. We believe the closest regular business day seems more likely. That day is Friday, Dec. 13, 2024.

Yes, this is actually a thing.
Some retailers and brands piggyback on the marketing benefits of “Free Shipping Day,” making you pay a minimum amount to reach the Free Shipping threshold when you buy from them.
In order to find out whether a retailer’s “Free Shipping” is actually free, always read the terms and conditions to see if there’s a minimum spend requirement. In 2023, Charlotte Russe’ website flashed free shipping one day only — when you spent $50 (normally $100 minimum spend).
5. Save the most money at the last minute by shopping clearance before Christmas online (up to 80% off) in addition to sales.
