Don’t pay over $1.50 per card (including shipping).
Online photo services often have sales of 30% to 50% off photo orders. In these instances, you can get cards for under $1, which you’ll see below. We recommend never paying over $1.50 per invitation or announcement card. This includes the shipping cost. There are too many options out there that are under $1.50 shipped for you to pay more than that.
Mailing services can cancel out the discount, so it’s best to mail them yourself.
While the convenience of having the printer mail the cards out for you is tempting, it will end up costing you even more than the postage. Some retailers, like Shutterfly, don’t allow discounts on cards shipped with their mailing service. So you’ll end up paying 40% – 50% more on the cards themselves just to have them mailed for you.
We do recommend taking advantage of the free perks like free return addresses or free labeling (if that’s an option). But if you’re really trying to budget, it’s in your best financial interest to carve out a couple of hours to hand-write the addresses and lick the stamps yourself.
You’ll get the absolute best value by printing the cards at home.
There are services that allow you to utilize free templates and then print the cards at home for absolutely free. This requires a bit more effort on your end (and perhaps loading up your printer with fresh ink), but is worth it to stick to a tight budget.
Print your own custom invitations using Adobe Express for $0.26 per card.
Adobe Express is a free web tool or mobile app that gets you access to 140 free graduation card templates to personalize and print at home.
This will take a bit of time and effort on your end and it isn’t completely free, because you do need to shop for the paper and envelopes. You can fit two 5×7 invitations on one sheet, so if you spend $13.95 for 50 sheets of card stock (via Amazon), this works out to $0.14 per card. Add in the price of envelopes ($12 for 100 on Amazon) and you’re looking at $0.26 per invitation.
These are our picks for the best graduation invitations under $1.50.
If you don’t have the time or just prefer pre-made cards shipped to you, you can still find inexpensive graduation cards. We compared prices of 100 basic 5×7 graduation cards using several different online printing services. Again, this is based on 100 cards. Your price will vary slightly if you’re ordering fewer or more cards, but this should give you a good sense of who offers the best prices and perks for graduation invitations.

Create cards on Canva from $0.64 per card.
Canva is a free tool with over 200 free graduation card templates to choose from. Just select the card you like, customize it with your own photos and details, and then add it to your cart to print. There is a free shipping option that takes 7-14 business days, or you can select in-store pickup by entering your zip code. Pickup options are stores like Staples or FedEx and this option is free and faster than the 7-14 business days.
These cards do not include envelopes, while the others on our list do include them in your order. For an additional $15 you can get envelopes included in your order, bringing the per-card price to $0.79. We did some price checking on Amazon and you can snag 100 envelopes for closer to $11. So if you’re a Prime Member, opt out of the $15 envelope charge and order them on Amazon for a better value.
Get same-day graduation invitations at Staples for just $0.68 per card.
Get 40% off graduation cards at Staples with code 17449 at checkout. Their cards start at $25.99 for one-sided cards printed on 12 pt (about 100 lb.) card stock. Snag 100 cards for $112.99 and drop them to $67.79 with the coupon code. This brings the total to $0.68 per card and the lowest price on our list. Pick them up in-store for free or you can also get them delivered via courier for an additional $14.99, which brings the price per card up to $0.83.
If you’d rather not pick them up, you can opt for free shipping, which takes a minimum of five to seven business days. Delivered cards do come at a higher cost, though return address shipping is included. Plus, you get a two-sided card rather than a one-sided card that’s available with the same-day pickup card option. These will run $129.99 or $77.99 after the discount code. This works out to $0.78 per card, still the best price on our list with shipping included.
Choose Walgreens for same-day pickup at $0.49 – $0.80 per card.
If you’re in a hurry or just live conveniently close to Walgreens, you can get some pretty stellar pricing on grad cards. They currently have 50% off everything photo related with code BLOOMING. You can even choose to print on cardstock for same-day pickup at your local store. Cards start around $1.59, so you’ll spend $159 for 100 and then $79.50 after the coupon code, working out to $0.80 per card. Envelopes are also included with your purchase.
To save even more, you can opt for a glossy photo card, which is printed (one-sided) on photo paper and not cardstock. You’ll spend $49.50 for 100 cards (with the 50% off promotion) and pay just $0.49 per card.
CVS also has same-day pickup, but for glossy photo cards, from $0.58 per card.
With code 50PHOTO you can get 50% off your graduation card order. If you select their glossy photo cards, the code will drop 100 5×7 cards from $115 to $57.50, or $0.58 per card. Envelopes are included. These cards are one-sided and printed on glossy photo paper, not card stock. You can also get them printed on card stock for same-day pickup and with the 50% off code they drop from $199 for 100 to $99.50 or $1 per card.
If you do prefer a premium card stock card, in our opinion, Walgreens is a better choice. Both the one-sided glossy photo cards and the cards printed on card stock are cheaper at Walgreens.
Amazon Printing costs $0.99 per card for Prime members.
You won’t find any limited-time promotions for Amazon’s photo printing, but they offer competitive pricing every day. Their 5×7 graduation cards are priced at $0.99 each and you’ll spend $99 for 100. Shipping is free for Prime members, so you’ll pay the simple and affordable $0.99 per card, with no hoops to jump through. Envelopes with return address printing are included for free with your purchase.
Shutterfly graduation cards work out to about $1 per card.
When Shutterfly offers 50% off graduation cards, which happens fairly often, you can get graduation invitations and announcements for as little as $1 each for a set of 100. You often need to spend a minimum amount, like $39, to get the 50% discount, which isn’t too difficult when ordering cards in bulk. To get the $1 price, select the invitations that say they are as low as $0.49, and add 100 to your cart at the $1 price. Shipping is free over $79 through May 6, 2023, with code SHIP79.
Costco gets you a 51% discount on Shutterfly graduation cards.
Costco closed their online photo center in Jan. 2023, after shuttering in-store photo centers in 2021. They now partner with Shutterfly and offer 51% off Shutterfly prices. This makes Costco a slightly better deal than when Shutterfly runs their 50% off promotion. You’ll save about $0.02 per card as a Costco member, so cards will be $0.98 each. While we don’t suggest you run out and get a membership to save on grad invites, if you already have a membership, it’ll help you score grad cards for under $1.00 each.
Vistaprint has cards for $0.93, due to shipping fees.
Take up to 40% off graduation cards at Vistaprint, with no code needed. You’ll see the price reflected in the 10 cards for $9.41. This discount drops 100 cards from $135.29 to $81.17, or $0.81 per card. Shipping adds an additional $11.99 when you buy 100 cards, but that still works out to $0.93 per card. You also get free envelopes with your order, just be sure to add them to your cart when prompted. Addressing is available at a surcharge (an additional $57 for 100 recipients).
Minted provides free recipient address printing at their $1.37 per-card price.
Take 20% off your entire Minted order with code KRAZY at checkout. This drops select graduation cards from $1.71 down to $1.37 each. With shipping, they’ll be closer to the $1.40 mark. And while they are pricier than others on our list, they will customize your envelopes with a return address and recipient address free of charge, which is a huge, time-saving perk. That’s why we’re still including them in our list.
