Aim to save at least 25% on a new grill during Memorial Day sales in 2024.

A bunch of grills lined up outside of Lowe's for their 4th of July sale

If savings are your top priority and the brand doesn’t matter as much, you’ll be able to save way more than 25% on a grill this Memorial Day. But if you’re looking for a top-notch grill that even the pros approve of, you may have to accept a smaller Memorial Day discount.

Sometimes the very best outdoor grills are only 20% – 25% off — max. That doesn’t seem like much, but high-end grills rarely go on sale. If you find a 20% – 25% off deal at Lowe’s or Home Depot, check the grill’s price on Amazon (or do a quick Google Shopping search) to compare the prices.

If you’re okay with buying a lesser-known grill without as many bells and whistles, aim to save at least 40% during Memorial Day grill sales. Just be sure to read customer reviews before you commit to a purchase. Buying a grill that fritzes out by the end of summer isn’t fun for anyone.

Look for Memorial Day grill sales at Target, Walmart, Lowe’s, Amazon, and Wayfair.

1. Target: Up to 50% off grills

You’ll start seeing Target grills on sale starting the first or second week of May. Last year, Char-Broil and Kingsford grills were 40% – 50% off at Target for Memorial Day.

2. Walmart: Up to 50% off grills

Walmart slashes prices on a handful of grills throughout May, including on brands like Expert Grill, Royal Gourmet, Cuisinart, Lifesmart, and Ozark Trail. Expect to save between 30% and 50% on grills with Walmart’s sale prices for Memorial Day.

3. Lowe’s: Up to 40% off grills

Look for Weber, Char-Broil, Blackstone, and Pit Boss grills on sale for up to 40% off during Lowe’s Memorial Day sale.

4. Amazon: Up to 36% off grills

Amazon usually drops the biggest Memorial Day discounts on indoor grills from brands like George Foreman. But you can expect to save up to 36% on Char-Broil, Cuisinart, Coleman, and more outdoor grills with Amazon Memorial Day deals.

5. Wayfair: Up to 35% off grills

Wayfair Memorial Day deals will save you up to 35% on grills from brands like Kamado, Blackstone, Char-Broil, Pit Boss, and more.

Home Depot will have a few Memorial Day deals on grills, but discounts may be lower (around 15% – 25% off).

For Home Depot’s Spring Black Friday Sale in April, Home Depot gave us discounts of up to 35% off select grills for the season. You may not see discounts this deep for Memorial Day, but it’s worth checking out what Home Depot has to offer. In the past, we’ve seen up to 26% off Weber, Traeger, Nexgrill, and more grills during the Home Depot Memorial Day Sale.

Pay attention to the grill’s warranty to make sure you’re getting good coverage.

There is a grill labeled Broil King in front of another larger grill.

Most grills come with some sort of manufacturer’s warranty, meaning the brand will cover the cost of repairs or the entire grill if things go awry. Some warranties only last one year, while others last up to 10 years or even a lifetime. The thing to know is not all warranties cover the entire grill and some only cover certain parts — like the burners, ignition, cooking grids, or exterior paint.

Read the grill’s warranty and return policy info carefully before you make a Memorial Day purchase you can’t take back.

Here are a few grill warranty examples for top brands:

  • Weber Q 1000, 2000, & 3000 Series gas grills have a five-year warranty on their cookbox, lid assembly, burner tubes, cooking grates, and plastic components.

  • Nexgrill grills have at least a one-year limited manufacturer’s warranty, but some parts may be covered longer. Batteries and paint loss are not covered.

  • Broil-King grills have a lifetime warranty on their cookboxes, while grids and burners have a two to 15-year warranty.
