Here’s what to know about this deal:
What is a Park-to-Park Ticket?
A Park-to-Park ticket at Universal Orlando Resort is a pass that allows entry into both Universal Studios and sister park Island of Adventure. This means with one ticket, you can visit both parks. With the extra day, you can choose to visit both parks on the same day or spend a full day at each park.
Tip: There’s also an option with this promotional deal to add a single-day ticket to Universal’s Volcano Bay for an additional $25.
How to get a free day at Universal Studios Orlando Resort.
To get this deal, guests must purchase a 1-Day Park-to-Park ticket online at the promotional cost of $179, rather than the usual $164 single-day ticket. With the purchase of the promotional 1-day ticket, Florida residents will automatically get a second day for free to be used whenever they choose. Tickets must be purchased by Dec. 14, 2022, and both tickets must be used by Jan. 26, 2023.
Promotional tickets must be purchased online, and prices vary by day. There are blackout dates from Nov. 21 – 26, 2022 and Dec. 22, 2022 – Jan. 2, 2023.

Is this actually a good deal?
So is this a good deal for Florida residents? Truthfully, it depends. While the ticket can be used on consecutive or nonconsecutive days, if you don’t live within driving distance of the parks, it may not be as much of a steal. For those living within driving distance, the free day is great. Visit one park, go home and sleep in your own bed (for free!), and then visit the second park another day. For residents living further from the parks, a hotel stay is required, and that can add some serious bucks to your free day. So let’s break it down for a family of four with two adults and two children under 10.
Free-day promo with hotel
- Four 1-Day Park-to-Park promo tickets for Florida residents: $706
- Second-day tickets: $0
- One night at hotel: $200
- Total cost: $906
Free-day promo without hotel (best value)
- Four 1-Day Park-to-Park promo tickets for Florida residents: $706
- Second-day tickets: $0
- One night at hotel: $0
- Total cost: $706
Single-day tickets without free-day promo
- Four 1-Day Park-to-Park regular tickets for Florida residents: $646
- Second-day tickets: $646
- Total for two days without hotel: $1292
- Total for two days with hotel: $1492
By choosing the free-day promotion, you’re spending $15 more per ticket, which is $60 more for a family of four. While we don’t consider that a truly free day, it does save you a decent amount on that second day. And since you can use these tickets on nonconsecutive days, even if you do need to book a hotel, the costs are considerably less. Lower priced hotel costs average around $200 per night for Florida residents on weekends, but this will vary by the day of your stay.
Overall, this is a good deal. But the best deal is for those Florida residents living nearby with flexible schedules. This results in the biggest savings on both the second-day ticket costs and the hotel stay.
