The Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale is a massive clearance event where you can find some of the best deals of the year — beating their most high-profile sales on some products. 

The sale happens twice a year (in early June and after Christmas), and although they’re both massive clearance events, they’re each a little bit different. The June sale is nearly a month long, with lots of markdowns on winter and spring products. By contrast, the December sale is typically about three weeks long and focuses on fall and holiday clearance (it ran Dec. 26 - Jan. 17 in 2024 - 25).

The summer Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale runs June 16 to mid-July (June 15 for members).

The sale usually runs around a month, so be ready for it to run until about July 16.

In all the sales we've studied, one of the most consistent findings is the deals always get better online in the last one to two days of the sale (al. Hopefully by the time the prices drop, our $10 coupons will still be valid for an even better deal.

Shop the sale early — then go back for a price adjustment.

Bath & Body Works updated their price adjustment and return policies back in Sept. 2022. Their policy now states that both online and in-store purchases are eligible for a one-time price adjustment within 14 days of the original purchase. That means you can shop the week before the Semi-Annual Sale and return with your receipt to receive the difference credited back to your original form of payment.

But certain sales aren't eligible for price adjustments.

Certain sales aren't eligible for price adjustments, including flash sales, select promotions lasting 24 hours or less, Candle Day, and email offers. So you'll have to make a return with your receipt and then repurchase the item at the new cheaper price.

If you buy online, you can't get a price adjustment in-store, and vice versa.

Technically, there's not a Bath & Body Works clearance sale. But if you're shopping the Semi-Annual Sale online, you could think of the last two days of the sale as a clearance of sorts. This is the retailer's last push to get everything off the shelves. If you're shopping in store, you'll see discounts get deeper, but you'll also see inventory disappear, which is why I recommend you don't wait to shop in store.

What day is the big candle sale at Bath & Body Works?

Candle Day falls in early December. In 2024, it took place Dec. 6 - 8. In 2023, Bath & Body Works Candle Day sale was Dec. 1 - 3. The sale always begins eight days after Thanksgiving, on a Friday.

How many times a year does Bath & Body Works have sales?

In addition to June and late-December when Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual sales take place, watch for Candle Day at the start of December and Body Care Day about a week after that. Those are the biggies. You'll also find Member Appreciation sales in May and August. Truly though, the two semiannual sales are the best of the year.
