On the second Saturday of each month, participating JCP locations host free JCPenney Kids Zone crafts events. These craft events take place inside JCPenney stores that have a dedicated Kids Zone area.

These once-a-month events are a great companion to other weekend craft events, like Home Depot Kids Workshops and Lowe’s DIY-U Worskhops. You don’t even have to sign up; you just show up. Adults aren’t left out, either; JCP gives them a stackable 10% off JCPenney coupon

JCPenney has a free take-home kids' craft in stores one Saturday a month.

JCPenney hosts families for free craft events in the Kids Zone section of their stores on the second Saturday of every month. The crafts — things like stitched animal pillows, seasonal wind chimes, flower kits, and personalized pencil pouches — are designed for elementary school-aged kids, but really anyone can join in regardless of age.

Kids receive all of the supplies to create the month’s craft, plus an ID badge, lanyard Collector’s pin, and a Master’s Medallion after completing six crafts.

And parents get something, too — a 10% off coupon that can be stacked with other coupons and sale prices. Unlike some of the other kids' craft events, you don’t have to preregister for the JCP events. But they’re only an hour long — 11 a.m. to noon — so you gotta be on time in order to participate.

The next JCPenney Kids Zone free craft will be on Saturday, Jan. 11.

JCPenney Kids Zone Craft Event — January 2025

Mark it in your calendars: JCPenney hosts Kids Zone craft events the second Saturday of every month. They let you know the next two projects in advance on their website. Again, there’s no registration for these free events, so if you decide you want to make the craft, you can just show up a few minutes before 11 a.m.

The January 2025 craft gives your child the opportunity to make a either a penguin or yeti bookmark. These crafts are designed for school-aged kids, and parents must be in attendance. You don’t need to preregister, but craft supplies are limited, so arrive early.
