What is MyLowe's Rewards?

MyLowe's Rewards is Lowe's free loyalty program for homeowners and DIY enthusiasts. Any shopper can join and access a variety of free benefits, like free standard shipping and member-only offers, such as their Mother's Day flower giveaway. But the main purpose of MyLowe's Rewards is to earn points toward free Lowe's coupons (aka MyLowe's Money).

For every 1,000 points you earn shopping at Lowe's, you'll earn $5 in MyLowe's Money. That means you'll earn 0.5% back in rewards on your Lowe's purchases. Compared to other free loyalty programs (which can give you up to 5% back in store rewards), this isn't a jaw dropper. But still, Lowe's program is free to join.

MyLowe's Rewards Benefits

MyLowe's Rewards is free to join, but the more you spend at Lowe's annually, the more benefits you'll unlock through the program. Either way, members get a $5 Lowe's coupon to use on their next purchase of $50 or more just for joining. They also get freebies (like one free sample of paint or stain) and other offers (like $1 off select light bulbs) in their MyLowe's Rewards account each month.

MyLowe's Membership Tiers

There are three membership Tiers: Bronze Key, Silver Key, and Gold Key. Everyone starts off as a Bronze Key member, which is for shoppers who spend between $0 and $499 at Lowe's each year.

In a normal year, I wouldn't make it past Bronze Key status. But as a new homeowner with big projects on my wishlist, Silver Key isn't such a big stretch.

Bronze Key members spend $0 - $499 annually and get:

Silver Key members spend $500 - $1,999 annually and get:

How to Use MyLowe's Rewards

1. Join: To get started with MyLowe's Rewards, sign up online for free. If you already have a personal account with Lowe's, choose the "Sign In" option instead of creating a new account.

2. Use Your Welcome Coupon: Lowe's emailed me a coupon for $5 off $50 about two weeks after I joined MyLowe's Rewards. The coupon was valid for 30 days, redeemable online or in stores. If you open the email on mobile, you can add the coupon right to your iPhone wallet.

3. Shop and Earn: Make purchases online and in-store through your MyLowe's account to earn points toward rewards (1,000 points = $5 in MyLowe's Money). Sign into your MyLowe's account to earn points online or scan your MyLowe's ID in the app when you checkout in-store.

4. Redeem Rewards: Once you earn 1,000 points, $5 in MyLowe's Money is added to your account. Redeem it on purchases in-store, online, or in the Lowe's app within 60 days (limit 5 per transaction).

Maximizing Your MyLowe's Rewards Benefits

• Check Your App for Offers: Lowe's drops a set of exclusive deals in your MyLowe's Rewards account on a monthly basis. Check your wallet in the Lowe's app for $5 coupons, freebies, and other deals regularly.

• Look for Email Coupons: Lowe's sends free $5 coupons to rewards members, regardless of your status. I got mine about two weeks after joining, but the program is still brand new. You may get more frequent coupons in the future.

• Always Use Your MyLowe's Account: Never shop at Lowe's without using your MyLowe's account so you don't miss out on points. Remember to verify your membership at checkout when you shop in-store.

• Complete Points Boosters: Check your MyLowe's Rewards dashboard for simple tasks that can earn you more points, like answering quick questions about your profile and interests.

Is MyLowe's Rewards free?

The MyLowe's Rewards program is free for anyone to join, regardless of how much you spend at Lowe's annually.

However, the more you shop, the more free benefits you unlock as a member. If you upgrade to Silver or Gold Key status, you'll earn more points per dollar at Lowe's and get free standard shipping with no minimums.

How is MyLowe's Rewards different from MVP Pro Rewards?

MyLowe's Rewards is a loyalty program for everyday shoppers, while Lowe's MVP Pro Rewards is a loyalty program for business owners. You can actually be a member of both rewards programs if you use a separate email address for each account.

Both MyLowe's Rewards and MVP Pro Rewards are free to join and give you more benefits the more you spend annually.

Can I use MyLowe's Rewards while shopping online?

MyLowe's Rewards members can earn points and redeem MyLowe's Money in-store, online, and in the Lowe's app.

Sign into your MyLowe's account online and in the Lowe's app to earn points on your purchases. If you're shopping in-store, scan your MyLowe's ID in the app at checkout, or give the phone number on your account to the cashier.

Do my rewards points expire?

The points you earn through MyLowe's Rewards only expire if you don't earn points for a full 12-month period. So, you have to make at least one points-eligible purchase at Lowe's each year to keep your points active and growing.

If your account doesn't show any points-earning activity for 12 months, your points will expire.

Does MyLowe's Money expire?

MyLowe's Money expires after 60 days, starting from when it was added to your Lowe's account. If you wait longer than 60 days, your reward will expire and you won't be able to use it.

Anytime Lowe's adds $5 in MyLowe's Money to your account, you'll get an email that says how long you have to redeem it.

Is MyLowe's Rewards worth it?

As a free member of MyLowe's Rewards, you get a 0.5% rewards rate on your Lowe's purchases ($5 for every $1,000 you spend). This is lower than some of the stronger free store loyalty programs out there.

For example, Kohl's offers a 5% rewards rate ($5 for every $100 you spend), and Dick's Sporting Goods offers a 3% rewards rate ($10 for every $300 you spend).

But even though earnings are slow, it's free to be a MyLowe's Rewards member. You get a lower free shipping minimum just for joining ($35 versus $45) and other free benefits like exclusive offers and member-only gifts.

So, you don't have anything to lose by signing up. And the more you shop, the more valuable your benefits get.
