You can mix and match any denominations from $10 - $500, so you don’t have to buy a single large $500 gift card.
This 10% off discount on Target gift cards is usually exclusive to the first weekend in December (we predict it'll take place on Dec. 5 - 6, 2026) for holiday gifting. It’s the perfect time to plan ahead for holiday gifting, teacher gifts, or saving on your own Target hauls throughout the year.

The Target Gift Card Sale is an annual 2-day event where Target gift cards sell for 10% off.
During this sale, you can buy Target gift cards for 10% off the face value with a Target Circle deal. So you’ll save $1 on $10 worth of Target gift cards, $2 on $20 worth of Target gift cards, and so on. Consider grabbing a mix of smaller cards you can use for stocking stuffers, teacher gifts, and birthdays all year. You can also buy them for yourself to use on deals where you earn gift cards back, which basically stacks your savings.

Target hasn’t officially announced the next date for their annual gift card sale, but based on what they've done in recent years, we predict that it’ll take place Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 5 - 6, 2026.
How do we make our prediction?
We've noticed that Target always holds their gift card sale starting on the first Saturday of December. In 2026, that's Dec. 5.
Use a Circle offer to get 10% off Target gift cards.
Get Target gift cards for 10% off the face value with a Target Circle offer. To score this deal, all you have to do is be a Target Circle member, and the deal will automatically apply. If you're not already a Target Circle member, you can join the free rewards program so you can enjoy savings during exclusive sales like Target Circle Week and the Target gift card sale.
You can only use the offer once, so all gift cards need to be purchased in one transaction.
Since the Target Circle deal is a 1-time-use discount, everything needs to be purchased in one transaction. This is the most important part of the sale. You can mix denominations however you want, but the full order has to be rung up all at once. You can buy up to a total of $500 in gift cards (a maximum of $50 in savings).
KCL TIP: During the Gift Card Sale, only Target gift cards are eligible for 10% off, not prepaid cards or gift cards to other retailers.
The Target gift card offer is only valid once, so purchase all your gift cards in one transaction.
Historically, the 10% off Target gift cards deal has been a one-time-use discount. That means you need to purchase your desired number of gift cards (up to a combined total of $500) in a single transaction.
Both physical gift cards and eGift cards are 10% off during the sale.
If you’re shopping online, you have three options for sending and receiving your Target gift cards: email, mail, or text. You can either order a physical gift card for shipping or have an eGift card delivered by email or text.
Before you add a Target gift card to your cart, select the gift card value and delivery method: email, mail, or text. At checkout, you’ll enter the shipping address, email address, or phone number for where you’d like the gift card sent.
Don't worry about saving the 10% off deal to your account; it will automatically apply.
Buy Target eGift cards for yourself or send them to a gift recipient.
There are tons of reasons to stock up on Target gift cards for yourself and save an easy 10%, but this sale is also an easy way to get ahead on gifting. And card designs aren’t limited to holiday themes — Target carries neutral and year-round options for birthdays, teachers, thank-yous, and more.
When you check out online, Target gives you the option to send your eGift card to another recipient under the “Digital Delivery” section. Here, you’ll enter the person’s name and email address/phone number, plus a short gift message to go along with it.
Buying an eGift card for yourself? Use the “ Send to myself ” option at checkout instead.
KCL TIP: If you don’t want your Target eGift card sent right after you buy it, you can schedule a future delivery date up to three months out.
Use the discounted gift cards for yourself throughout the year to save.
One of my favorite ways to use Target gift cards is on other gift card deals throughout the year. For example, use them during “buy 3, get a $5 gift card” promos. You’re basically stacking savings without even trying.
Unfortunately, you can't stack your 5% off Target Circle Card discount with the 10% off Target gift card sale.
When you pay with your Target Circle Card (formerly know as the RedCard), you get 5% off your purchases. Most things at Target are eligible for the 5% discount. However, Target gift cards aren't one of them.
You’ll save 5% when you use your Target Circle Card to buy other retailer gift cards, but not Target gift cards. They are one of the few exclusions to your typical Target Circle Card discount.
