During the school year, Pedialyte is a must-have in my home for when the kids (and even adults) come down with a bug and need to stay hydrated. Of course, it’s better for you than sugary alternatives like sports drinks, but because it can be pricey — up to $8.99 per bottle — I get excited when I can find it on sale.
Right now, Walgreens is offering BOGO 50% on all Pedialyte liters, plus a digital coupon for $2 off (and yes, you are able to stack those for extra savings!). There’s a new product at Walgreens, the Pedialyte Immune Support Electrolyte 1-liter bottles in Peach Mango and Cherry Punch, which will cost as low as $4.99 with the deal. That’s over 37% off the regular price.
Here are three reasons why I’m stocking up on Pedialyte during this deal, and how to do it.
1. You’ll get rehydrated, whether it’s cold and flu season or the hot summer months.
In most places in the country, summer means long days outside in hot temperatures. I’ve been worried about my kids getting dehydrated during summer sports or beach days. Because any time we sweat, we lose electrolytes — the mineral nutrients like potassium and zinc that our bodies need to function. Sure, water is great, but surprisingly, it has no electrolytes. And while my kids do like Gatorade, it has twice the sugar and half as many electrolytes as Pedialyte. So I always have it on hand in the summertime for those moments when I can tell they need to get hydrated fast.
For over 50 years, Pedialyte’s been the #1 pharmacist-and pediatrician-recommended brand of rehydration drinks, and that’s because of the science behind it. I asked my friend who’s a pediatric nurse (and mom of two) about Pedialyte and she said, “When it comes to situations of mild to moderate dehydration, Pedialyte is the go-to rehydration drink. I equate it to an IV bag.”
Whether my son is coming home from football camp, or my toddler picked up a bug at pre-school, it’s always my go-to drink for them.
2. Walgreens’ current deal can’t be beat.
Now through June 24, you can get BOGO 50% on all Pedialyte liters. Plus, with a Walgreens digital coupon, you’ll save an extra $2 off through June 22. (The coupon will work on one bottle per transaction.)
Since I can still use the $2 off coupon twice per visit, I’ll just do two separate transactions for 2 bottles in each one. This means that instead of buying 4 bottles of Pedialyte Immune Support at $7.99 each, I’ll only be paying $19.98 for all of them — for a total savings of over 37%.
To find the deal and stack your savings, the digital coupon will need to be clipped to your account, but should be available in everyone’s account in the app or online, and then the BOGO 50% will automatically apply as a store sale.
3. Pedialyte has a long shelf life, so stock up now for the winter.
Pedialyte Immune Support comes in two flavors: Cherry Punch and Peach Mango. My family likes these better than the regular flavors, so I’m planning on several trips to Walgreens before June 22 so I can stock up for a while. And as long as I keep them somewhere at room temperature, they can be stored for up to two years, which means I can stock them up for the long winter ahead (which I’m sure will be full of those germs my whole family has come to know!).
