Chick-fil-A's Code Moo Game Happening NOW — Get Free 5-Piece Nuggets!

For the past four years, Chick-fil-A has canceled Cow Appreciation Day. If you're unclear about that holiday, Cow Appreciation Day was when you could dress up like a cow and grab free sandwiches at your local Chick-fil-A locations. Unfortunately, we don't think it will make a return — despite its overwhelming popularity with customers. Instead, in 2023, Chick-fil-A introduced Code Moo — a game for app users to earn Chick-fil-A deals and coupons for free food.

Now, Code Moo has officially launched for 2024 and seems to be a permanent replacement for Cow Appreciation Day. You'll see weekly games (and freebies) in the app from July 22 to Aug. 17, 2024. The first week's freebie is a 5-piece Nugget (regularly $3.25) for the first 2 million game users in the app.

The game has some changes this year, and we aren't as excited. First, it started a month later and will only last around four weeks instead of the 6-week event we saw in 2023. And the first week's prize — 5-count nugs — is only worth $3.25, while last year's first prize was an 8-piece, regularly priced at $5.39.

Chick-Fil-A Code Moo is an annual 4-week game you play to get free food and prizes.

Code Moo is Chick-fil-A's summertime promotional game that offers multiple chances to win free food and merchandise. Players answer location-based questions to earn rewards through the Chick-fil-A app.

Users race their cow car in a 4-course mission to help stop Circus Burger and spread the Cows’ ‘Eat Mor Chikin’ message. Choose your favorite cow character and vehicle to play and receive a Chick-fil-A food reward each week.

(Code Moo replaced Cow Appreciation Day, which had rewarded people with free food for dressing up like a cow in July. It has been discontinued since Covid.)

Chick-fil-A Code Moo started on Monday, July 22.

It all started July 22 in the app, with new missions every Monday. This game runs through Aug. 17, 2024.

Get free Chick-fil-A every week by playing Code Moo on your phone.

You can play Code Moo by going to playCodeMoo.com or by signing in to your Chick-fil-A Rewards app. In the game, you’ll select your cow and race through obstacles like hay bales and construction gates. Tap your screen to dodge items and collect paint cans to paint over billboards on your route.

After you finish the race, you’ll be given a reward added to your Chick-fil-A Rewards in the app.

There will be 2,000,000 prizes every week.

Code Moo lasts for four weeks. Every reward will expire six days after they're awarded, and they can be used at every location as long as you claim your reward on your next order through the Chick-fil-A app.

The first week's freebie is Chick-fil-A Nuggets, and based on last year, we think next week's offer will likely be for a beverage.

Cow Appreciation Day no longer takes place in restaurants.

In previous years, kids received a free Chick-fil-A sandwich (regularly $5.29) while adults could get an entree of their choice (up to $8.85 value) when they dressed like a cow. We don't expect this event to return in 2024 and, instead, customers can play Code Moo to get their free Chick-fil-A.

There's no need to wait for the annual cow holiday to grab a deal. Join the Chick-fil-A One rewards program online or through their app to save all year long.

The free rewards program has four tiers, each level with additional perks (like earning more points per $1 you spend). However, if you're just joining, you’ll earn 10 points for every $1 spent and receive fun stuff like Chick-fil-A coupons for free food and birthday rewards.

Prices differ by location, but here’s an idea of what points can buy:

• Large Waffle Fries: 500 points

• Chick-fil-A Nuggets: 600 points

• 2-count Chick-n Strips: 600 points

• Sausage Biscuit: 700 points

• 5-count Grilled Nuggets: 800 points

• Bowl of Chicken Noodle Soup: 1,200 points

• Meal (including entree, side, and drink): 2,500 points
