Sometimes you wanna take your pet on vacation with you. After you read about your airline’s pet policy, you’ll want to know which hotels will take you and your pet.
Major chains like Best Western tend to be pet friendly, but that doesn’t mean all of their hotels allow pets.
Since hotel pet policies vary by location, I’ve put together a list of pet-friendly hotels and their general pet policy information, so you have an idea of what to expect when traveling with your pet.

All deposits/fees are typically per pet and non-refundable unless noted.
1. Best Western pet policy

If you want to bring birds, cats, monkeys, or snakes to a Best Western, it’s gonna be at the manager’s discretion. But if you have a dog, the Best Western pet policy (find it here) is much more straightforward.
You can expect the following when you stay at a Best Western, Best Western Plus, Best Western Premier, or Sure Stay hotel:
- Two dogs allowed per room
- Dogs can’t weigh more than 80 lbs
- Refundable $150 deposit
- Pet fee of up to $30 per day or $150 max per week.
2. Choice Hotels pet-friendly policy

The Choice Hotels pet policy (find it here) is general, so you’ll want to contact the hotel directly if you have a large dog or a pet that’s not a dog.
Here’s what to expect when you stay at a Clarion, Comfort Inn & Suites, Econo Lodge, Quality Inn, Roadway Inn, and Sleep Inn hotel:
- Two dogs allowed
- Pet fee $10 – $100 per night
- Weight restrictions up to 40 lb
- No pets allowed on the beds
3. Days Inn pet policy

The Days Inn pet policy (find it here) varies widely. In general, here’s what to expect:
- Two dogs maximum
- Weight restriction under 40 lbs
- Pet fee $15 – $25
- Pet sanitation fee $50 – $500 (if necessary)
4. Hilton pet-friendly hotels

The Hilton Hotel pet policy (find it here) is fairly pet friendly.
You can expect the following when you stay at DoubleTree, Embassy Suites, Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites, and Home2 Suites hotel:
- Two pet maximum
- Weight restrictions up to 50 lb
- Pet fee $25 – $100 per stay
- Deposit $50 – $100
5. Holiday Inn pet-friendly hotels

Pet policies for the Holiday Inn (find it here) and Holiday Inn Express (find it here) are specific to each location, so you’ll need to ask their Digital Concierge on their reservation pages.
But if they allow your pet, here’s what you can expect:
- Pet deposit: $50 – $75 per stay
- Weight restrictions under 50 lbs
- Additional $50 fee for extended stays
6. Hyatt pet policy

While the Hyatt hotel pet policy is friendly to your furry friends (find it here), it’s gonna cost ya.
Here’s what to expect when you stay at a Hyatt Place or Hyatt Regency hotel:
- Two dogs maximum
- Weight restrictions up to 40 – 50 lbs
- Pet fee of $75 – $100 per stay
- Deep cleaning fee of $100 – $150
7. InterContinental Hotels pet policy

The Intercontinental Hotels pet policy (find it here) allows animals in some locations, so you’ll want to check with the specific hotel you’re considering.
Here’s what to expect:
- Dogs and cats permitted
- One pet limit
- No weight restrictions
- Deposit $100
8. Kimpton Hotels pet policy

The Kimpton Hotels pet policy (find it here) is the pet friendliest of the hotels on the list. When you stay at a Kimpton hotel, here’s what you can expect:
- No weight or size restriction (except your pet must fit through the door)
- No pet fees
- No limit on the number of pets you bring
- No breed restrictions (including dogs, cats, birds, and snakes)
- Guests can leave pets alone, provided they give the front desk an emergency contact number
9. La Quinta Inn pet policy

La Quinta Inn and Suites’ pet policy (find it here) allows both cats and dogs. Here are a few other pet requirements you can expect:
- Two pet maximum
- Weight restrictions
- Pet fee of $20 – $40
10. Marriott pet policy

The Marriott Hotels pet policy (find it here) varies between locations — I found one in Tampa that welcomes cats, birds, and fish — so you’ll need to look up your destination hotel.
Here are a few pet requirements you may encounter:
- Weight restrictions under 25 lbs, some under 50 lbs
- Pet fee of $75 – $150 per stay
11. Ramada pet policy

The Ramada pet policy (find it here) is unique to each hotel. Here’s what you can expect:
- Two pet maximum
- Pet fee of $15 (under 10 lbs each) or $20 (over 10 lbs each)
- Sanitation fee of $250 (if necessary)
12. Sheraton Hotels pet policy

The Sheraton Hotels pet policy (find it here) and Sheraton Suites pet policy (find it here) vary considerably, so contact the hotel directly for specific pet policy information. In general, here’s what to expect:
- Pet fee of $25 – $150 per stay
- Weight restrictions under 40 lbs, some under 80 lbs
13. The Ritz-Carlton pet policy

In general, the Ritz-Carlton Hotels pet policy (find it here) is pet friendly. However, each location has their own pet policy. Generally, here’s what you can expect:
- Two dogs maximum
- Weight restrictions up to 25 – 40 lbs
- Cleaning fee of $150 – $200
- Deposit of $125
14. Travelodge pet policy

The Travelodge pet policy (find it here) is simple. Here’s what you can expect for your stay:
- Two pet maximum
- Weight restriction (one pet under 50 lbs, or two pets 25 lbs each)
- Refundable deposit of $50
- Pet fee of $25
- Sanitation fee of $200 (if necessary)
15. Wingate pet policy

The Wingate pet policy (find it here) varies between locations, so you’ll need to contact your destination hotel for specific pet requirements. In general, here’s what to expect:
- Three pet maximum
- Weight restriction of 50 lbs, some 80 lbs
- Pet fee of $50 – $75
- Cleaning fee of $35
- Pets cannot be left alone in rooms.
