Several US airlines offer last-minute airfare specials on Tuesdays for travel on the upcoming weekend. Most fares are non-refundable and must be purchased immediately, but these specials often represent significant savings even over the advance purchase fares. Below is a recap of this week's offerings.
United/Continental Airlines – Continental Airlines offers dozens of Internet specials this week, mostly to or from their hubs in Houston, Newark, Chicago, Cleveland and Denver. These fares must be purchased by 11:59 PM, Central on Friday, March 16 and apply to departures after 7 PM on March 16 or anytime March 17 with returns on Monday, March 19 or Tuesday, March 20. Taxes and airport fees are additional. A sampling of this week's fares include:

US Airways – US Airways also offers weekly Internet specials. Their E-saver fares must be purchased by 11:59 PM, Eastern on March 17 for travel departing March 17 and returning March 20. The best fares I found include: (roundtrip without taxes and fees)
- Nashville to Washington, DC – $240
- Pittsburgh to Hartford, CT – $236
- White Plains, NY to Philadelphia – $190
Delta Airlines Web Deals – Delta, like the others, offers airfares between special cities (often including their hub, Atlanta) for travel on the weekend. Tickets for these specials must be purchased by 11:59 PM on Saturday, March 17 and are non-refundable, once purchased. You must depart on Saturday, March 17 and return on Monday, March 19 or Tuesday, March 20. Below is just a sampling of this week’s specials. The fares listed are roundtrip and do not include taxes or airport fees, if applicable.
- Atlanta to Cincinnati – $178
- Atlanta to Ft Lauderdale – $208
- Atlanta to Gulfport, MS – $158
- Atlanta to New Orleans – $138
- Detroit to St Louis – $138
Keep in mind that there are a limited number of seats for these Internet deals and they may sell out at any time. Be sure to read the fine print before purchasing your tickets, but if you see something that interests you, it's a good idea to buy your tickets immediately to avoid being disappointed.
