You can't. Not always. So, what do you do? You can let a week slide and live off your stockpile, OR you can leverage local couponing friends into coming to your aid—and not just on the busy weeks.
Coupon Buddy Checklist
- Plan ahead, and plan together. If you want just one deal from a store that your friend visits every week, give her some money and coupons and let her do the shopping for you. You'll return the favor when there's an awesome deal at one of the stores she doesn't frequent.
- Have an "auto-buy list." My family never uses bodywash, but if I can get it for free or close to it, I'll pick it up for my friend using my coupons. Similarly, she doesn't use Zyrtec, but I'm thrilled to get free pills.
- When in doubt, call. If I see something awesome I think my friend will want, I give her a call and see if she wants me to jump at the deal.
My couponing buddy keeps an envelope of my money in her couponing binder. That way, she can score deals for me without even the hassle of reimbursement. Do you have a coupon buddy?
