If you’re a mom, you might have baby oil lying around the house — or in your stockpile. Maybe you have mineral oil lying around from a DIY project.

Did you know that mineral oil is actually just fragrance-free baby oil?

Check out these 20 unexpected uses for baby oil or mineral oil:

1. Make your own baby wipes.

You’ll need a roll of paper towels, 2¼ cups of water, 2 tablespoons of baby shampoo and 1 tablespoon of baby oil.

Cut the paper towel roll in half, and place into a container with a lid. Mix all the ingredients, and pour the mixture over the top of the towels. Remove the cardboard center, and pull up paper towel wipes!

Baby oil or mineral oil will keep your blades from rusting and will extend the life of your razors.

And while you’re at it, never pay full price for razors.

3. Turn your colored pencils into watercolor.

With a bit of oil on a cotton swab, you will be able to blend and soften all those rough edges and use colored pencils a little like a watercolor (or water soluble) pencil.

4. Painlessly remove bandages or stickers.

Remove bandaids, stickers, price tags from dishware or bumper stickers from a car with ease.

All you need to do is add baby oil or mineral oil to the area, let sit, and wipe away.

5. Make lava lamps with baby oil, liquid food coloring and Alka-Seltzer.

Fill a water bottle or jar about ⅓ of the way with baby oil. Add a few drops of liquid food coloring. Once the color has settled at the bottom, drop in the Alka-Seltzer tablet, and watch your new lava lamp go!
