Michaels will take off your coupon amount first to all applicable items, and then apply the Rewards Voucher to your purchase.

Sometimes there are specific coupons, like “40% off Washi Tape”. You can use that and a 20% off coupon in one transaction.

If you see one of these, you’ll need to buy at least one regular-priced item in your transaction with the Washi Tape so that the 20% off coupon has somewhere to go. Your 40% off coupon will apply to the Washi Tape, and the 20% off coupon will apply to all other regular-priced items in your purchase.

You can use a 40% off one regular price item coupon and an “entire purchase” coupon in one transaction on multiple items, they just won't "stack".

Michaels coupon policy specifically states: Limit one coupon per product. Limit one coupon of each type per day. This means you would get 40% off one regular price item, then the percentage off of the entire purchase coupon on the rest of your regular priced items.

What is excluded from Michaels 40% off coupons?

If you're going to use that 40% off Michaels coupon it's important to know which exclusions apply. Some of the biggest exclusions include (but are not limited to):
