If two of your favorite things include crafting and spending time with your kids, Michaels is the place to be on Sundays. Their Sunday Makebreaks are essentially Michaels free craft classes in mini form — there’s a different project each week that only takes about 15 minutes to complete. Don’t forget that Sunday Makebreaks are available in store at Michaels every week from from 2 – 4 p.m. local time. Sidenote: Wondering about Michaels free craft camps ‘Camp Creatology’ for summer 2023? The free camp kicks off June 19 and registration starts now.

It bears repeating that while the retailer did virtual events in the past, these are all in person. You and the kids will need to schlep over to your nearest Michaels to participate. On deck, there’s Friendship Bracelets (June 11), Father’s Day Keychain (June 18), and a Tie-Dye T-shirt (June 25). While this is the schedule on Michaels’ site, check with your local store in case they’re mixing things up. And did we mention it’s free? Because yeah, it is.

What we love about the Michaels free kids’ crafts events is that you really just need to remember when (Sundays) and what time (2 – 4 p.m.) they’re happening. There’s no preregistration necessary. You just show up with your kids, and all they need is their imaginations. The activities typically take just 15 minutes, so they’re perfect for small children who may not have the attention span yet for a bigger project.

Seriously, these in-store activities are free. You won’t need to purchase supplies to participate.

Now we cannot promise you your kids won’t start begging for all of the artsy stuff available to purchase on Michaels shelves, but the supplies involved in these Sunday Makebreak crafts are gratis. There’s also the option to request a Kids Take & Make if your child is in the middle of meltdown central and cannot hang.
