This stop-motion classic has aired on television since 1964 and is the longest running TV holiday special in the U.S. It’s based on a song by Johnny Marks of the same name which was inspired by a poem written by Robert L. May. If you don’t know the story, it follows a shiny-nosed reindeer named Rudolph as he handles being snubbed by his friends in the Reindeer Games and meets other misfits on his Christmasy journey to find acceptance. It’s a family-friendly, heartwarming story with lovable characters and memorable songs.

If you were lucky enough to catch the first showing of Rudy on CBS on Nov. 29, then your holiday season is off to a great start! If you missed it, don’t fret! You’ll be able to watch everyone’s favorite glowy-nosed deer again on CBS this year. Catch it on Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. ET. Better still, Frosty the Snowman and Frosty Returns both air immediately after for a fun and festive Saturday night lineup.
In addition, cable subscribers who get Freeform have several opportunities to watch the beloved reindeer this year. If you get the Freeform channel, tune in at the times listed below to catch a showing.
