I’m turning 40 in August and I have to admit, it’s made me think hard about skincare. Lately I’ve spent more time than I ever imagined reading about collagen. It’s a protein that helps reduce wrinkles, repair damaged skin, and improve its elasticity. Our bodies produce less collagen as we age. With that in mind, it’s something I want to make sure is in anything I put on my skin. Yeah, there’s ingestible collagen powder, but it is expensive. Like $40 or more for a month’s supply. That’s almost $500 a year. Plus the jury is still out on whether or not collagen powder is actually effective. Fortunately, I found the Olay Collagen Peptide 24 product line.
But even better than finding products containing exactly what I am looking for, I can save big on it using the Ibotta app at Walmart. For the record, I already buy body wash, body lotion, and face moisturizer. But, previously, I never checked for collagen as an ingredient. However now feels like the perfect time to incorporate it into my skincare routine and see if I feel a difference.
So, I picked up the Olay Regenerist Collagen Peptide 24 MAX Face Moisturizer, Olay Cleansing & Firming Women’s Body Wash with Vitamin B3 and Collagen, and Olay Firming & Hydrating Body Lotion with Collagen. Then, I removed every other skincare product from my routine. Here are my takeaways after using Olay’s collagen products for one week:
1. Olay Regenerist Collagen Peptide 24 MAX Face Moisturizer made a difference on my fine lines after just seven days.
I normally use Olay Regenerist Whip moisturizer with SPF 25 every morning because I have fair skin that needs steady protection from the sun. But I decided to swap it with the Regenerist Collagen Peptide 24 MAX this week, then put a little sunscreen on top. (After writing this, I saw that Olay does offer this product with SPF 30, which is great to know.) I also used the Regenerist Collagen Peptide 24 MAX every night before bed instead of my usual products.
After applying it the first morning, my skin immediately felt firmer and more hydrated, and stayed that way all day long. But the Regenerist Whip moisturizer does that, too. What was most important to me was seeing if Collagen Peptide 24 MAX would make any visible difference on the fine lines that seem to be creeping up on my forehead. After just three days, the answer was a resounding yes. And after a week, the difference was even more noticeable. Check out day one vs. day seven:
2. Olay Cleansing & Firming Women’s Body Wash with Vitamin B3 and Collagen has an ultra light feel.
The first thing I noticed about this body wash is that it’s nice and light. I used a loofah scrub to apply it on my body and instantly felt refreshed. It provides a tingling sensation that really feels like the body wash is working into deeper layers of my skin. Honestly, I haven’t felt that from other body washes I’ve tried. When I was drying off, my legs already felt softer, too.
The next day, I realized I was out of my shave gel, so I decided to use the Olay Body Wash while shaving my legs. It actually works so well that I’ve removed shave gel from my shopping list (and welcomed that $4 back to my wallet).
Now I’m using it for more than just my body.
Since it felt so good on my limbs, I started using the body wash as my face wash every day. Because I had only seen Vitamin B3 listed on my multivitamin bottle and not in a skincare product before, I was curious to see what it does for the skin. After some googling, I learned B3 is proven to retain the skin’s moisture and increase keratin. For aging skin like mine, Vitamin B3 also reduces wrinkles and helps improve the skin’s texture. The combination of collagen and Vitamin B3 in this Olay body wash has already improved my skin so much after a week.

3. Olay Firming & Hydrating Body Lotion with Collagen is gentle on my sensitive skin and quick to apply.
My skin is fair and sensitive, but I love taking hot showers. Obviously, that’s not a great combination and I’ve struggled with dry skin for years. What’s been frustrating is that regular body lotion doesn’t provide enough moisture. However, moisturizers that are formulated for extra dry skin take too long to apply and leave my skin feeling greasy. This all changed with Olay’s Firming & Hydrating Body Lotion with Collagen, which is is my new go-to. It’s super light and I can apply it in a fraction of the time as a deep moisturizer. Yet, somehow, it still provides so much hydration without the greasiness after. Throughout the week, I couldn’t stop touching my arms because they’d never felt so soft. And it’s not just right after I apply it — my skin feels soft all day long.
I can honestly say that Olay’s Collagen products will now be staples in my beauty routine. After just seven days, they’re making a huge difference on my skin. On top of that, I love getting all of collagen’s benefits without adding expensive powders to my budget (or beverages, for that matter). Plus, if you use the Ibotta app at Walmart this week, you can save up to 56%. Now through June 28, they’re offering $5 off one Olay product. You can use it on the 20-ounce Cleansing & Firming Body Wash with Vitamin B3 and Collagen, 17-ounce Firming & Hydrating Body Lotion with Collagen, or the 1.7-ounce Regenerist Collagen Peptide 24 MAX Face Moisturizer. (Note that this deal is limited to one Olay product.)
