To help the millions of restaurant employees who are out of work, efforts like the Restaurant Strong Fund are making a difference. Thanks to Samuel Adams and the Greg Hill Foundation, the Restaurant Strong Fund is able to help eligible hospitality industry workers.

Determine if you qualify for funding from the Restaurant Strong Fund.

If you are a restaurant employee who is out of work due to COVID-19, you may be eligible to receive some financial support from this relief organization. The Restaurant Strong Fund was started in Massachusetts but is now offering grant assistance in 20 states.

To qualify you must have worked in a restaurant, bar, cafe, or nightclub located in:

  • Arizona
  • California
  • Connecticut
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Illinois
  • Massachusetts
  • Maine
  • Michigan
  • North Carolina
  • New Hampshire
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • Ohio
  • Pennsylvania
  • Rhode Island
  • South Carolina
  • Tennessee
  • Texas
  • Vermont

You must also be a full-time employee (total of 30 hours per week, can be at multiple restaurants), have been employed for three months or longer at the same location, and complete the RSF application, which requires a few steps.

Take the following steps to complete the Restaurant Strong Fund Application

You will need to create a free Submittable account or sign in with Google or Facebook to submit your forms.

Once you sign in, you need to enter the following information:

  • Your name, address, and phone number
  • Description of your hardship
  • Place of employment
  • Position held
  • Length of position at your current location
  • Supervisor(s) name
  • Supervisor(s) contact info

Answer whether you are employed at another job and upload your last full-time pay stubs that total 30 hours.

Click “Apply” or “Save Draft” to save your information and return later to complete your application.

Important details you should know about the Restaurant Strong Fund application process

The RSF Foundation will follow up with you via email, so it’s important that the email you used to sign up for the Submittable account is one you check often.
