Are you putting together that perfect Valentine’s Day date, but you’re looking for just the right restaurant?
Waffle House wants your consideration. Like, for real.
For the 11th year in a row, the Southern cultural/culinary icon is pulling out all the stops for the big love day. You want in?
White (or red) tablecloth dinner service goes from 5-9 p.m. on Feb. 14.
The Waffle House CEO says a “perfect Valentine’s dinner” has soft music, great food and a welcoming atmosphere — and that’s what’s waiting for lovebirds at select restaurants.
Couples will be able to eat by candlelight at a table for two. Some locations are rumored to have live music, but even if not, jukeboxes can provide all the right mood music.
It’s free to make a reservation — and it’ll likely sell out.
They’ve got a list of the participating restaurants and contact info. No online reservations, though — you’ll need to call (and soon!) to make sure you don’t miss out.
Not every Waffle House is getting fancy.
While there are 2,100 Waffle House locations in 25 states, just over 170 restaurants in 19 states will be participating. Yep. An 8% chance. Still, it’s probably worth the drive.
Certain locations offer Valentine’s-only specials.
Promos like two T-bone dinners for $25 and special drinks and desserts are popping up at various locations. But the truth is, you can order whatever the heck you want. The secret menu at Waffle House is pretty much whatever you want it to be. So get adventurous with your significant other.
Date go well? Waffle House could cater your wedding, too.
Yeah, they have a special food truck in the Atlanta area that’s wedding-reception ready. It costs $90 just to rent the truck, plus $50 an hour (drive time and event time) and the cost of what’s ordered.
Save money on your big date by signing up for the Waffle House Regulars Club before you go.
By registering, you’ll get a coupon for something free off the menu. They rotate what’s available, but right now it’s free hashbrowns. They’ve also been known to offer free waffles and desserts. You’ll also get free waffles on your birthday.
Wanting to stay in? Get Waffle House delivered through Postmates.
Food delivery service Postmates will bring the goods to you. Delivery costs $5.99 on top of what you order (and about $2.00 more for a small cart fee if you don’t hit a $12.00 threshold).
Make sure to adequately tag the experience on social media with the hashtag #WaffleHouseDate.
