Whenever I go to the restaurant Red Lobster, I can’t seem to say no to more biscuits—they’re just so scrumptious! If you feel the same way, then from now on you won’t have to go out just to enjoy them. Now you have the recipe with added extra goodness. In just twenty minutes you can whip up these delicious biscuits to go with dinner tonight or if you’re like me, have them for dinner!
Cheddar Bay Biscuits
2 cups flour – $0.18
1 Tbsp sugar – $0.02
1 Tbsp baking powder – $0.15
2 tsp garlic powder – $0.18
1/2 tsp salt – $0.01
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional) – $0.01
1 cup buttermilk – $0.56
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted – $0.48
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese – $1.53
3 Tbsp butter, melted – $0.18
1 Tbsp fresh parsley, chopped – $0.12
1/2 tsp garlic powder – $0.05
1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and then set it aside.
2. In a large bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, garlic powder, salt and cayenne pepper.
3. In a small bowl whisk together buttermilk and butter. Pour the mixture over the top of the dry ingredients and stir using a spatula until moist. Gently fold in cheese.
4. Using a 1/4 measuring cup, scoop the batter evenly onto the baking sheet. Place in oven for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown. While the biscuits are baking, whisk together the topping ingredients. When the biscuits have finished, brush them with the butter topping and serve.
