Get excited, your at-home happy hour is about to get a little bit more convenient. The celebrity couple of the mixed drink world, Jack & Coke, is finally getting the canned treatment. Now you can just crack open one of the premixed 355 ml cans and enjoy the familiar chemistry of Jack Daniel’s and Coca-Cola. With a 7% alcohol per volume (ABV), it’s like visiting your favorite watering hole without having to leave the comfort of your couch.

Brown-Forman, the spirit company behind Jack Daniel’s, in partnership with The Coca-Cola Company, are putting their brands front and center, the way the over 21 crowd likes ’em best. News about this ready-to-drink combo began in the summer of 2022, but retailers like Albertsons, Meijer, and Walmart now have them in stock.

Canned Jack & Coke is available in two versions.

Whether you like your soda loaded up with real deal sugar or prefer to cut calories with Coke Zero, you’re in luck. The canned Jack & Coke cocktails are available to purchase in both regular and zero-sugar versions. Even if you’re not counting calories, it’s nice to have a say in the sweetness level of your drink.

And since we do enjoy looking at everything from a value angle, this premixed version makes it easier for you to enjoy the classic cocktail without the need to buy both products separately. For instance, the cheapest Jack Daniel’s bottle runs about $15 and a liter of coke is roughly $2, compared to about $5 – $12 (depending on retailer) for a 4-pack of canned Jack & Coke.

In today’s premade cocktail war, it’s no wonder that companies like Coca-Cola have entered the market. After all, most of us are looking for convenient, easy-to-drink options that don’t require a lot of fuss or preparation … whether it’s alcohol or not.

The product was actually first released in Mexico.

The buzz about a canned Jack & Coke began in early 2022, with Mexico being the first to debut the product. After impressive sales, they’ve taken the release to the States. But this isn’t the first time that the spirit company launched canned mixed drinks. For example, you can find a Jack Daniel’s Country Cocktails Party Pack ($21.49, Total Wine & More) which includes a dozen boozy drinks including Downhome Punch and Southern Peach. They also sell a Jack Daniel’s Honey & Lemonade ($11.99, Total Wine & More), which comes in a 4-pack. Still, seeing the canned union of Jack and Coke just hits differently than these other offerings.

Buy Jack & Coke packs or singles at your local retailer or liquor store.

I’ve seen 4-packs of 355 ml cans at Target, my local Albertsons, Meijer, and Walmart. You’ll be able to spot the packaging on store shelves with the black and white whiskey label along with the Coca-Cola logo.

As for price, there’s a bit of a range for the 4-pack. Here are some sample prices at retailers in the Chicagoland area:

  • Target: $11.99
  • Walmart: $11.98
  • Meijer: $12.99
  • Albertsons: $13.99
ONLINE or In-Store Deal at Meijer
$11.99$12.998% off
ONLINE or In-Store Deal at Albertsons
$11.99$13.9914% off

Each can of Jack & Coke is 7% ABV.

Each 355 ml can of Jack Daniel’s and Coke is 7% alcohol by volume. By comparison, a 12-ounce bottle of beer is typically 5%, while a 5-ounce glass of wine is 12%. So one can of Jack & Coke meets in the middle in terms of the punch it packs.

Reviews, like the canned cocktail, are mixed.

Whether or not canned Jack & Coke is going to be your cup of tea (or can of cocktail?) is totally subjective. However, looking at the reviews across available retailers, it appears to be a pretty sufficient fix. Some reviewers note that it’s cheaper than going to a bar and that the taste is pretty balanced. Plus, if you’d like to dilute your cocktail a bit, you can always add a bit more soda If you have some on hand or pour it on the rocks in a glass.
