We love sharing about free kids’ activities to add to your weekend calendars, and we’ve found a new one you need to know about for next back-to-school season: the free Office Depot Kids Workshops. These workshops are held during on select weekends during the back-to-school season — and the crafts kids create while there are 100% free! We recently shared the details about the two workshops they held on weekends in August and September 2023.

Attendees got free crayons and coloring book pages at the Office Depot Kids Workshop on Sept. 2 – 3, 2023.
At the Office Depot Kids Workshop held on Sept. 2 – 3, 2023, all attendees got to color their own pages in the store. And the best part? The workshop was completely free — and each participant received a free 24-count box of Crayola Crayons (reg. $2.79).

The Office Depot Kids Workshops happen in person at select locations.
Each Office Depot Kids Workshop takes place in person at participating stores, and your child will head home with their one-of-a-kind project and a sense of accomplishment.
Everything you need for this weekend’s project is provided. And unlike the Lowe’s Kids’ Workshops and the Home Depot Kids’ Workshops, you don’t need to register in advance for the Office Depot event. However — supplies may run out if you wait too long to arrive.
What time is the workshop?
According to their website, the event takes place during regular business hours (generally 9 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Sunday).

Ready to join in the fun? Next back-to-school season, check to see if your Office Depot and OfficeMax location participates. Here’s how to find out if your store will host the event:
- Open the store locator tool on the Office Depot website.
- Enter your ZIP code.
- Choose the store closest to you by selecting “View Details.”
- Scroll down (below the list of hours) and look for a box advertising the workshop.
If you see the ad for the workshop event on your store’s detail page, that means you’re in luck!
What to expect:
When attending the Office Depot Kids Workshop, expect an environment full of enthusiasm and creativity. With safety measures in place, children can enjoy the process of experimenting with colors, shapes, and designs. All materials are provided, so all you have to bring is your creativity!
