When is Black Friday 2022
Black Friday is officially on Friday, Nov. 25, 2022 — but lots of stores start their sales earlier, sometimes days or even weeks in advance. Early Black Friday sales have been growing in popularity for years, but pandemic-related supply chain concerns greatly accelerated their growth. Last year alone, Adobe.com
reported that total retail sales in the weeks before Thanksgiving (Nov. 1 to Nov. 24, 2021) grew by 19.2 percent compared to the previous year.
But a longer shopping season just means more chances for you to save. And consumers are starting earlier than ever, according to the National Retail Federation
, to be sure they can get what they want … at a price they want to pay.
In order to help you out, KCL tracks prices of top holiday gifts in a Black Friday database
so you can decide what you plan to pay for those AirPods Pro before you ever start shopping. That way you’ll know if the price point in that early November sale is low enough or if it’s better to wait until closer to Thanksgiving.
When do Black Friday sales start?
Black Friday sales officially kick off on Friday, Nov. 25, 2022, with most retailers opening their doors between 5 a.m. – 8 a.m. local time for in-store shopping.
And online Black Friday sales generally start on Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 24), giving you one extra day to shop.
But early Black Friday (aka pre-Black Friday) sales are a thing now too. And if it feels like pre-Black Friday sales are creeping up earlier and earlier each year (just like Halloween decorations at Hobby Lobby), you’re not wrong.
You’ll find that early deals start as soon as mid-October (looking at you, Walmart). And this year, Amazon has announced its first-ever Prime Early Access Sale
will be held in mid-October. And Kohl’s, Home Depot, and others launch their Black Friday sales at the beginning of Black Friday week (the Sunday preceding Thanksgiving).
