Don't you just hate trying to get labels off?  No matter how slowly I pull, I still seem to leave half the label and sticky residue behind. Goo Gone works great to get that sticky stuff off, but you can save money and a trip to the store by making your own with just a few household items. I tried it out on the container I used to store my homemade Goo-Off, and it worked! Another secret weapon to try when battling sticky residue is peanut butter. I was equally amazed at the effectiveness of these simple items from my pantry and I hope you will be too!

Materials

  • 1 part baking soda
  • 1 part vegetable oil
  • Container

Directions

  1. Mix together equal amounts of oil and baking soda to form a paste.
  2. When removing a label, apply your DIY Goo-Off and let it sit on the label for several minutes.
  3. Then use an old toothbrush and hot water to scrub away that sticky label.
