The thing about babies is that they need baby stuff All. Year. Long. That’s why I made this handy little list so that you know when to hit the baby stores and what you should be buying.

Remember to watch our baby deals page all year so that you know when to shop!

January: Buy Carter’s bodysuits at Kohl’s to save at least 65%.

Use unique coupon code for 15% off
Free shipping on orders of $75+ or free curbside pickup

February: Shop The Children’s Place spring sale and save up to 80% on baby clothes.

The Children’s Place runs their spring sale in February through March, and that means 80% off Easter dresses and outfits as well as shorts, tanks and other summer clothes. In 2020, I scored dresses for as low as $6.99 that were regularly $34.95!

Buy 1 Baby Girl Lace Matching Fit and Flare Dress (reg. $34.95) $6.99, sale price
Free shipping
Final Price: $6.99

March: Sign up for Target’s Baby Registry for free samples and coupons.

Sign up online or in-store for a Target Baby Registry and you will score a goodie bag filled with coupons and free stuff, like a onesie, bottles, and more!

By the way, you need to read these baby hacks your friends should have told you about!

April: Participate in Target’s Baby Car Seat Trade-In Event and save 20% on baby stuff.

Target’s bi-annual car seat trade-in event is always a great deal. They canceled the April event due to the pandemic in 2020, but still ran the event in September of 2020. Here’s how it works:

  1. Keep an eye on the KCL Target page and we’ll let you know in advance the exact dates of the event.
  2. Bring an old car seat to any Target store.
  3. Trade it in at Guest Services for a 20% off coupon.
  4. Use the coupon for a new car seat, stroller or other specified baby stuff.

I love ways to prepare for a baby on a tight budget.

May: Shop the JCPenney Memorial Day sale and get baby blankets for as low as $1!

Keep in mind that sometimes the deals are better at JCPenney.com, like this one that I scored last year:

Buy 1 Gerber 5-Pack Receiving Blankets $12.99, regular price
Use a promo code for 65% off
Free same-day pickup
OR free shipping on orders of $99+ or free shipping to store on orders of $25+
Final Price: $4.55, or $0.91 per blanket

June: Stock up on diapers at Target and save 31%.

Every June Target holds a diaper gift card promotion. To get the deal, you have to spend a certain amount on diapers, and Target will give you a gift card to spend on your next transaction.

Even better? Rebate apps like Ibotta pay attention to this sale and offer additional money back when you scan your Target receipt after your purchase. Then you get to cash out when you have at least $20!

Here’s an example of how it all works:

Buy 4 Honest Company Super Pack Diapers $25.99, regular price
Spend $100, receive $20 Target gift card through
Submit four $4/1 – Honest Diapers, Ibotta Rebate
Pay $103.96, receive $20 Target gift card and submit for $16 in Ibotta credit
Save: $32.04 on 4 boxes

Read The Ultimate Guide to Rebate Apps if you’re new to the rebate scene — or even if you’re not. It’s great info!

July: Shop the Amazon Prime Day sale and save at least 20% on Graco strollers.

Every July Amazon runs their Amazon Prime Day sale, (except in 2020 when they postponed it until October) which means I get sweet deals left and right.

If you’re only looking for baby stuff, then follow our baby deals page and we’ll sort through the madness for you.

There are always some decent baby deals, and last year was no exception. I scored 20% off all Graco baby products, including strollers and baby car seats.

I also saw other brands on sale, including 20% off Chico and 25% off BOB jogging strollers!

August: Stock up on Carter’s Baby Clothes during their 40% off clearance sale.

Carter’s can be a spendy baby store, but I love their sales! If you want some name brand baby onesies, then this is your chance. The best part? You don’t even need a coupon! It’s that great of a sale!

Seriously. Look:

Buy 1 Baby Boy Tees (reg. $12) $1.79, clearance price
Free shipping on orders of $50 or more or free shipping to store
Final Price: $1.79

This sale is just one of the ways we get Carter’s baby clothes cheaper than Walmart prices.

September: Buy a Pack ‘n Play at Target during their Baby Gear Sale and save an extra 20%.

No doubt about it: Target knows how much we need baby stuff. That’s why they run great sales all year, and the Target Baby Month sale each September is fantastic. You can score cheap high chairs, rockers, and more, but one of my favorites is the Pack n’ Play. Look at this deal I saw at Target:

Buy 1 Fisher-Price Newborn Rock ‘n Play Sleeper Green (reg. $59.99) $37.99, sale price
Save 20% with online promo code BABYEXTRA20 through 9/29
Save 5% with RedCard
Free shipping
Final Price: $28.87

September: Head to Walmart and save at least 50% on cribs and more during the Best of Baby Month event!

Walmart runs their Best of Baby Month sale twice annually, in February and in September. This month is huge for baby savings at Walmart. In 2019 I saw 50% off the Fisher-Price Lakeland 5-in-1 Convertible Crib, dropping it from $299 to $149! In February 2020, Walmart had a free welcome baby box for customers that signed up for their registry, with over $40 worth of free products, samples and coupons.

I saw deals on diapers, car seats and other baby gear, too!

Walmart also hosted a car-seat trade-in event similar to the popular one hosted by Target. Trade-in any car seat and you’ll get a $30 Walmart gift card good toward a future baby purchase.

October: Shop the Macy’s fall sale and save up to 65% on cold-weather gear for babies.

The Macy’s fall sale happens every year and there are always good deals to be found on cold-weather clothes and accessories for babies. Last year we saw puffer vests for babies on sale for just $13.99, down from $42.50!

November: Buy Britax strollers from Amazon in November to save 30%.

November = Black Friday, and Black Friday means great deals on all kinds of baby stuff.

When you think of baby stores, you might not think of Amazon, but every single year they run a Britax sale which means you can get strollers for 30% off! You can also get 30% off baby car seats, too! Here’s what it’ll look like:

Buy 1 Britax B-Mobile Lightweight Stroller (reg. $159.99) $111.99
Free shipping
Final Price: $111.99 shipped

OR

Buy 1 Britax B-Safe 35 Infant Car Seat (reg. $199.99) $139.99, sale price through 11/18
Free shipping
Final Price: $139.99 shipped

December: Shop Target’s toy sale to save at least 50%.

.

Every baby needs new toys for the holidays, right? Make sure you get just what you need because Target holds their semi-annual clearance in January, and they often start marking down at the end of December!

We saw V-Tech Learning Toys as low as $16.71, and in the last days of the month last year we scored LEGO and Barbie toys for as low as $3.48

We know you need ’em, so here are all kinds of links for baby stuff:
