Buying a car seat is a MUST, but the reality is that most of us don’t have unlimited funds to shop for one.
It’s OK, though, because there are some less-expensive ways to get that Graco or Britax car seat, and we’re going to help you out. Check out these car seat deals and read on.
Important: A car seat is one of those things you shouldn’t buy used. They have a shelf life of 6 years and should be retired after an accident — even a minor fender-bender.
1. Head to Target in April and September for their Car Seat trade-in event and get a 20% off coupon.
Twice a year Target runs their Car Seat Trade-In Program — typically the last week of April and into the first week of May, and then again the first two weeks of September.
Bring in any car seat in any condition, and Target will recycle it for you. To say thanks for helping the earth, they’ll give you a 20% off coupon for a future car seat purchase.
You can’t stack that 20% with any other coupon, but you can use it with your Target Red Debit Card to get an extra 5% off your entire purchase. There’s a reason this sale is our fave.
It works like this:
Use 1 Car Seat Trade-In Coupon for 20% off
Pay with Target Red Debit Card and get 5% off
2. Look for car seat clearance deals in January at Walmart, and save 50% or more.
Walmart traditionally puts just about every department on clearance in the weeks after Christmas, and the baby aisle is no exception.
Last year we saw a Britax car seat marked down from $200.00 to just $40.00!
In 2018 we saw a Graco Contender 65 Convertible Car Seat on clearance for $99.00 — down from $180.00.
3. Save at least 30% on Britax when you shop Amazon in November.
We spot great Britax sales on Amazon every year just before Thanksgiving. Last year we saw 30% off Britax car seats, and the year before we saw a 48% savings!
Last year we saw the Britax B-Safe 35 Infant Car Seat priced at $139.99 (reg. $199.99).
4. Put a car seat on your Amazon baby registry and get 15% off if no one buys it for you.
Complete a baby registry on Amazon and you’ll get a coupon for 15% off your baby purchase.
If no one decides to give you that car seat as a gift, you can use your coupon toward the purchase.
5. Shop for Diono car seats on Zulily when they drop a sale — usually January and October.
Last October we saw sales that saved us up to 47% on Diono. The Diono Red Monterey XT High Back Booster was down to $69.79 from $99.00.
6. Don’t shop Graco.com unless they’re offering a 40% off sale, which is usually in January.
On top of the 40% off sale, you can sign up for a promo code for 20% off your first purchase.
This past January we saw the Graco Affix Youth Booster Seat w/Latch System for just $38.39. The same seat is $61.19 on Amazon!
7. If you shop Target.com, sign up for Paribus.
When you shop Target.com, Paribus monitors your email and when it finds a price drop, you’ll receive a notification that it’s time to request a price adjustment. For example, if that $200 Graco drops to $150 within the price adjustment period, you could get the $50 price difference kicked right back to you.
Paribus compensates us when you sign up for Paribus using the links we provided.
8. Download the Krazy Coupon Lady app and we’ll let you know when a car seat deal is available.
Once you download the app, you can sign up for Baby Deal alerts. We’ll keep you up to date on any car seat deals, along with everything else baby.
