If you’re looking for some amazing Black Friday vacuum deals on Roomba that don’t suck (vacuum pun), Amazon buying iRobot might be the news you’ve been waiting for.
If you have a Roomba, you’ve probably said “Alexa, vacuum the kitchen” a few times. But brace yourself — the Amazon/iRobot integration is going to be even better after Amazon shelled out $1.7 billion to buy the tech company.
iRobot is known for their robot vacuums, the Roomba, but they have a few other smart home cleaning products, like the Braava smart mop. Now that Amazon’s got their hands on iRobot, we expect some major price cuts. They’re already starting to happen. So what’s next for Roomba? How cheap are we talking? We break down our predictions.
And to save money on smart home cleaning, go to our robotic vacuum deals page.
Amazon has bought iRobot for $1.7 billion.

Amazon has been interested in iRobot for quite some time. Back in 2017, Amazon worked with iRobot to make their Roomba vacuums and Braava smart mops even smarter by integrating Alexa into the devices.
Now, as Amazon has brought Alexa voice control to more than 200,000 devices, they’re prepared to grow their investment in iRobot by making the Alexa integration even stronger.
This deal still needs to be approved by shareholders and investors, but it’s pretty much a done deal.
In 2017, Amazon bought the indoor security camera company, Blink, and in 2018, they bought the smart doorbell company, Ring. In both situations, Amazon quickly expanded the offerings of those products.
TIP: Amazon’s most recent purchase in early July 2022 was technology-driven healthcare provider One Medical, which means we’ll see Amazon Health Clinics really soon.
If history is any indicator, expect a new Amazon iRobot Roomba to cost about $150.

Amazon has already dropped Roomba J7 models to their lowest-ever prices.

Just a few weeks into Amazon owning iRobot, and they’ve cut prices on the Roomba J7 and J7+ models. Not only do these Roomba prices match the lowest-ever-recorded prices on Amazon, but they threw in a free Echo Dot, too.
- iRobot Roomba J7: $399.99 (regularly $639.98) + free Echo Dot 3rd generation (regularly $39.99) = 41% off regular price
- iRobot Roomba J7+: $599.99 (regularly $839.98) + free Echo Dot 3rd generation (regularly $39.99) = 32% off regular price
When Amazon bought the smart home security system, Ring, in 2018, they almost immediately started cutting prices. For example, the Ring camera had cost $179, but once Amazon acquired the brand, they brought the price down to $99.99 — a 45% price decrease. The same kind of thing happened when Amazon bought Whole Foods. Prices at the store went down 43% the first day after the buyout.
We could see lower-end Roomba models hit $150. As of early August 2022, the Roomba 694 costs $199 (regularly $274.00).
This year, we could see Amazon iRobot Black Friday deals dip close to $100.

With Roomba now a part of the Amazon family, there’s a good chance we’ll see big discounts for their Black Friday deals — or even their upcoming Prime Early Access Sale.
During Prime Day 2022, Amazon smart devices like Ring cameras were 25% off.
If Amazon cuts the Roomba price to $150, and Prime Day is any indication, we could see price cuts as much as 25% for Black Friday deals. That means you’d be able to get Roombas for as low as $113 during Amazon Black Friday.
Expect new Roomba models to come out within the next year or two.

When it comes to breaking out new models, Amazon wastes no time. After they officially bought Ring in February 2018, each camera model has gotten a brand new generation every year.
The Blink camera gets an update roughly every two years and is currently in its third generation. We expect some new Roombas to hit the floor (literally) by 2023.
