1. Schwinn IC4 Indoor Cycling Bike

Great for serious at-home workouts, the Schwinn IC4 indoor cycling bike ($999, Schwinn or $899, Amazon) has just about everything you could want. It comes with a free year of Schwinn’s JRNY app which includes daily trainer-led workouts. Also, the monitor works with other apps, like Peloton, in case you want to ride along with one of their classes. The bike features 100 resistance levels, two built-in 3-pound dumbbells, a tablet/phone holder, and a USB charging station.

Let’s talk price: Schwinn’s isn’t the cheapest model on the market, but it offers a lot of features. And it’s a lot cheaper than a Peloton. Luckily, they offer a payment plan of $56 per month if you want to break up the cost into manageable increments.

Occasionally you can find a good deal on this bike at other retailers. Right now, it’s $100 cheaper on Amazon (though we’ve seen it lowest at $799 in 2022). We’ve also seen Schwinn and Best Buy offer it for $200 off, with the bike priced at just $799.

2. Xterra Fitness Folding Exercise Bike

For a less intense ride, check out the Xterra folding exercise bike ($179.99, Amazon). It’s compact for small spaces, folds for easy storage, and includes up to eight resistance levels. At just 32 pounds, it’s super lightweight and easy to assemble on your own.

The bike is better for shorter riders, supporting heights from 4’10” to 5’10” and weight up to 225 pounds. But what’s really unbeatable is the price — it retails for under $200. The amazing news is that you’re likely to find it for even less. At the time of publish, this is on sale for $107. We’ve also seen it on sale for $93, but that was back in 2018.

3. Exerpeutic Gold Heavy Duty Foldable Exercise Bike

If you’re looking for a strong, durable bike that’s compact, consider Exerpeutic’s foldable model ($249.99, Amazon). It’s a little more basic than pricier options, but it’s also much more practical for small homes or apartments. And it goes on sale for about 7% off on Amazon quite often. It has eight different resistance settings, plus an LCD monitor for tracking distance, time, speed, and calories burned.

Keep in mind that this bike isn’t quite as adjustable for height as some models. It’s made for 5’1″ to 6’5″. But it has a higher weight capacity of up to 400 pounds.

4. Schwinn 230 Recumbent Bike

Anyone needing more back support while they ride will be happy with Schwinn’s 230 Recumbent Bike ($549, Amazon). The bike retails for $599 normally, but you can get it on sale often at $499. The seat is contoured and padded for comfort but also vented to help keep you cool as you ride.

The bike is connected to a sliding rail so it can be easily adjusted to different heights between 4’6″ and 6’6″, with a max weight of 300 pounds. It includes 16 resistance levels, and the built-in LCD screen offers 13 different workout programs. The lowest price we’ve seen on this model is $399 in 2021.

5. Original Peloton Bike

Serious cyclists love Peloton ($1,445, Amazon), and we get it. Their trainer-led workout classes are worth the hype. The classes stream live from Peloton’s New York studio with over 50 different instructors. And their subscription (ranging from $12.99 to $44 per month) gives you 24/7 access to classes.

As a bonus, Peloton offers free delivery and assembly with purchase. If you keep a watchful eye on this bike, you can score a deal. In August we saw it offered on Amazon for $1,347. And in late 2022, we saw the price go down to $1,195. But back in May, Peloton slashed up to $500 off the original bike and Bike+.

The bike features a 22-inch HD touchscreen that rotates 360 degrees. It’s Bluetooth-compatible, so you can stream workout classes on demand if you’d like. There’s an adjustable incline and 24 resistance levels. It supports up to 350 pounds and lets you adjust the seat height up to 13 inches.

7. Keiser M3i Indoor Bike

Need a bike with extra legroom? The Keiser M3i ($2,460, Amazon) can accommodate riders from 4’10” all the way up to 7′, with a maximum of 350 pounds. This makes it one of the most inclusive bikes you’ll find. It also includes a 4-way adjustable seat and 4-way adjustable handlebars for your best fit. It’s a bit on the pricier side at $2,460 on both Keiser’s website and Amazon, though Amazon has offered it at $2,060 around the holidays.

No subscription’s required to use the bike, but it’s compatible with more than 15 fitness apps. That means you can choose which exercise program works best for you in terms of classes. The bike also has a variety of resistance levels and Bluetooth compatibility.
