The tariffs announced throughout 2025 could push the prices on electronics, clothing, and even the groceries you buy every week. While the higher reciprocal tariffs are delayed (for now) by 90 days (as of April 9), there's still a 10% tariff on basically all imported goods from all countries. While stores might try to swallow some of the costs, tariffs might get passed on to you, the consumer.
So what can you do? You can't control the number on the price tag, but you can control your budget by shopping sales (especially now, before the impact of tariffs are in full effect). This week, our KCL editors have been hard at work, finding the best deals on the things that are most likely to be affected by tariffs.

8 Deals It's Smart to Shop Now, Before Tariff Price Hikes
While not all these things are at their lowest prices ever, they are on sale (perhaps for the last time in a while). Consider buying the following:
Character Backpacks at Target, $11.39 (24% off)
Like many textiles, backpacks either come from or are made from materials from countries like Cambodia, which could have a 49% reciprocal tariff if it gets reinstated in 90 days. That could make back-to-school shopping, and specifically backpack deals, more expensive come August.
Sambae Shoes, $59.99 (45% off)
Sambae shoes are at WSS for only $59.99 — one of the lowest prices we've tracked all year. Since Adidas manufactures in Germany and throughout Asia, they could soon face tariffs between 20% - 46% (currently 10%). Get them while this price lasts.
AA Batteries, 48 ct, $13.49 (55% off)
A lot of household batteries come from Asia and Europe, and that means a minimum 10% tariff. We saw prices as low as $10.99 for a 48-pack around this time last year, but $13.49 may be the best deal on batteries you see for a while.
Ugg Koolaburra, $28.49 (70% off)
Ugg Koolaburra boots are on sale at JCPenney, and at prices which are around the lowest we’ve seen ($26.99). These are imported and sourced from Australia, the UK, and Vietnam, meaning a minimum 10% tariff on them.
BOGO Seattle's Best at Kroger
We don’t source coffee domestically. It’s mostly imported from Brazil and Colombia, both subject to 10% tariffs. Consider stocking up with this BOGO coffee deal.
Tops, as low as $6 at Target
We’ve seen tops as low as $3 in the past, but prices could go up even more, since Target's clothing brands (Universal Thread, A New Day, etc.) are sourced from other countries including Cambodia, which could be hit with a 49% tariff if the reciprocal tariffs return (10% currently).
Chocolate Candy, as low as $0.49 at CVS
Chocolate is something sourced from a variety of countries, with the cacao coming from Africa and South America. Given the blanket minimum tariff of 10% (some countries would be much higher if the reciprocal tariffs get reinstated), consider shopping well before Easter — CVS has chocolate starting at $0.49 right now.
Lego Classic Creative Brick Box, $17.99 (49% off)
Lego’s Classic Creative Brick Box is around $18, the lowest we’ve seen in about a year. With Denmark facing a potential 20% tariff (if reciprocal tariffs come back, 10% currently), this is a smart buy if you need Lego deals for upcoming birthday or holiday gifts.
