While there aren’t tables of free samples at Target like you would find at Costco, that doesn’t mean you won’t find freebies there for the taking. You can still shop smarter at Target and take advantage of perks like Target free shipping, buy two get one free offers, and free gift cards. I’ll show you how!

1. Unlock Target free shipping on most items you buy with a RedCard or for any order over $35.

Paying with a Target RedCard will get you free standard shipping on most items, plus free 2-day shipping on eligible items you buy at Target.com.

If you don’t have a RedCard, you’ll get Target free shipping for all orders over $35. For orders under $35, the shipping fee is about $5.99.

2. Get a free Apple Music trial and other freebies through your Target account.

Because Target has teamed up with various partners like Apple and Ulta, you can get a bunch of freebies like a free Apple Music trial or a trial of Apple TV+. The only thing you need to do is sign in to your Target Circle account.

Here are the 3-month trial offers you can sign up for until Sept. 28, 2023:

• Apple TV+
• Apple Arcade
• iCloud+
• Apple News+
• Apple Fitness+ (four-month trial)

TIP: As with any free trial, you’ll want to cancel before your trial is up if you don’t want to get automatically charged.

3. Receive a free Target baby box with coupons and samples when you sign up for a baby registry.

Looking for a good parenting freebie? When you create a Target baby registry, you can get a Target free baby box filled with samples and coupons worth over $100! (Between you and me, that number’s a pretty big stretch, but free is free.)

Plus, you get a 15% off coupon eight weeks before your due date to use on anything leftover from your registry.

4. Stack coupons on top of clearance items to get things for free.

Target regularly offers gift card deals usually worth a $5 or $10 Target card when you meet a spend threshold or buy a set number of a certain product.

Sometimes, you can get a major deal, like a $350 gift card when you buy a new iPhone at Target.

7. Trade in your old electronics for Target gift cards.

With the Target Trade-In Program, you can grab free gift cards for trading in your old electronics that are gathering dust. Here’s what you’re able to trade in:

• Smart speakers
• Media players

Use the Target Trade-In website to calculate exactly how much you’ll get back. Last time I checked, you could get about $230 for an old iPhone 11 Pro X (512 GB).

Don’t expect major cash back on everything, but it’s better than leaving your old electronics in the attic or throwing them out.

8. Take an extra 5% off with the Target Circle birthday gift.

If you’re signed up for Target Circle, you’ll get a 5% off Circle deal on your birthday, which can be stacked with the RedCard 5% off savings. You’ll have 30 days to use the birthday deal before it expires.

9. Create a Target wedding registry and score a 15% off coupon.

After you create your Target wedding registry (either in store or online), you’ll receive a coupon the week of your big day. The storewide coupon is 15% off a single purchase you can redeem twice.

You can’t use the coupon on everything though. Here are some things that are excluded:
