Ibotta's annual Thanksgiving offer for 2025 has ended, but if you're reading this and wondering what the deal looked like, here's what users were able to claim. And there's a good chance similar offers will return for Thanksgiving 2026, so bookmark this page if you want to be ready next year.
In 2025, new Ibotta app could score $22.99 in cash back on Thanksgiving staples including turkey, pie, gravy, and all the sides. Existing Ibotta users had access to weekly freebies throughout November, plus a referral hack that unlocked a free turkey worth up to $13.65.
While learning how to use Ibotta is easier than you think, we can also help you find free turkey deals that don't require any cash-back rebate apps.

What KCL Experts Think You Should Know
-
New Ibotta users got the best deal: They received a total of $22.99 in cash back on five Thanksgiving staples, including a turkey, pie, gravy, and sides. You needed to download the app (iOS/Android) and create an account between Nov. 1 - 23, 2025, to qualify.
-
The turkey offer was worth $13.65: That was the biggest cash-back item in the bundle and essentially covered the cost of the main protein at most stores. Even though the offer said "turkey roast," it worked on most whole turkeys too.
-
You didn't have to buy everything at once: Ibotta users could grab items as they saw sales throughout November, as long as they submitted receipts within 7 days of each purchase.
-
Existing users got an offer every Monday in November: One side item dropped each week, available while supplies lasted.
-
The referral hack was the real MVP for existing users: By referring a friend to Ibotta between Nov. 1 - 23, existing users could unlock 100% cash back on a turkey once their friend submitted their first receipt.
-
The 2025 offer was less generous than previous years: In 2024, existing users could earn up to $40 in bonus cash, and in 2023, everyone got 100% cash back on their entire meal (limited to five select items, though).
New Ibotta users could get $22.99 back on five Thanksgiving staples.
If you were new to Ibotta in 2025, you got a solid deal. New users received $22.99 in total cash back when they purchased five specific Thanksgiving items between Nov. 1 - 23, 2025.
What You Got Cash Back On:
-
Turkey Roast (any brand; up to $13.65 back): Even though the offer said "turkey roast," it worked on most whole turkeys too. At Walmart, Butterball whole turkeys were priced around $13, making them essentially free. To verify a specific turkey qualified before buying, users could scan the barcode within the Ibotta offer details.
-
Edwards Whole Pies (up to $5.69 back): Edwards pies at Walmart were on Rollback for $5.87, so users paid just $0.18 out of pocket.
-
Idahoan Mashed Potatoes (up to $1.61 back): Shop Idahoan potatoes at Walmart for $1.27, making them free.
-
McCormick Gravy Mix (up to $1.29 back): Shop McCormick gravy mix at Walmart for $0.97, making it free.
-
Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix (up to $0.75 back): Shop Jiffy mix at Walmart, on Rollback for $0.50, making it free.
How It Worked:
-
Download the Ibotta app and register for a new account between Nov. 1 - 23, 2025.
-
Add the 5 "Thanksgiving Dinner On Us" offers to your account.
-
Buy the items at any participating grocery store (Walmart, Target, Kroger, Publix, etc.).
-
Upload your receipt(s) showing proof of purchase within 7 days of purchase.
-
Get your cash back credited to your Ibotta account.
Keep in mind that you don't have to buy everything at once!
Existing users got weekly free side items — but you had to act fast.
If you'd used Ibotta before, the 2025 deal wasn't as generous as it had been in 2024 (when users could earn up to $40). Instead, Ibotta dropped one offer dropped every Monday in November. Each offer was for a Thanksgiving side item, and it was only available while supplies lasted.
The Monday Drop Schedule:
-
Week of Nov. 3 — Free McCormick Gravy Mix (up to $1.29 back)
-
Week of Nov. 10 — Free Edwards Whole Pies (up to $5.69 back)
-
Week of Nov. 17 — Free Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix (up to $0.75 back)
-
Week of Nov. 24 — Free Idahoan Mashed Potatoes (up to $1.61 back)
The referral trick was the only way existing users could get a free turkey.
Here was the workaround for existing users who wanted that free turkey: Refer a friend to Ibotta between Nov. 1 - 23. Once your friend downloaded the app using your referral code and submitted their first receipt, you unlocked a 100% cash-back offer for a turkey (the same $13.65 offer that new users get).
This was hands-down the best way for existing users to score a free turkey in 2025. Friends needed to actually use the referral code, download the app between Nov. 1 - 23, and submit a receipt for the offer to trigger. And like all Ibotta offers, you needed to submit your turkey receipt within seven days of purchase.
Tip: Use your Ibotta cash back to stock your local food bank for free.
With grocery prices remaining high and many families facing financial challenges, food banks consistently see high demand during the holidays. If you're in a position to help, Ibotta Thanksgiving offers (when they're available) can stretch your donation dollars further.
Here's how it works: Use the cash back you earn from Ibotta to buy extra items for donation. For example, if you're a new user getting $22.99 back, you could use that cash to pick up a few extra cans of vegetables, boxes of stuffing mix, or even another turkey to donate. If you're an existing user scoring free gravy through weekly drops, buy two — one for your table, one for the food bank.
The benefit of this strategy is that you're essentially donating items you got at a steep discount (or completely free), which means your out-of-pocket cost is minimal. And food banks always need shelf-stable staples like gravy mix, corn muffin mix, and mashed potatoes — all items that have been part of past Ibotta Thanksgiving bundles.
KCL TIP: Before you donate, check with your local food bank to see what items they need most. Some prioritize proteins, while others are stocked up on canned goods but need side items. A quick call or visit to their website can help you make the biggest impact with your donation.
