7 Early Black Friday Sales You Cannot Miss (Many Happening Now!)

Early Black Friday sales are here to stay, which means October may be the new Black Friday. Why? Walmart, Amazon, Target, and other big retailers have consistently shown up over recent years with sales galore during the month before the holiday shopping event. Some of these early sales begin just before Black Friday — mid-November — but most start much sooner. You stand to save money on everything from electronics to furniture if you time it right. Find out which sales we think are worth your time (and if you should stock up in October to get the best prices) and which might be worth skipping.

Here are the early Black Friday sales with 2023 dates — either confirmed or predicted. I’ll also give you the skinny on the deal sneak peeks and what I saw last year so you can have some idea of what to expect.

1. Confirmed: Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days 2023 happened Oct. 10 – 11.

It’s on! The Amazon Prime Day October sale was announced and their Prime Big Deal Days sale happened on Tuesday, Oct. 10, and Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023.

Like last year, the 48-hour event will put a spotlight on early Black Friday deals from brands like Peloton, New Balance, Caudalie, Murad, Philips Sonicare, Lego, Adidas, Furbo, and even Ashley Furniture. You can also expect discounts on Alexa devices, Hasbro toys, iRobot Roombas, KitchenAid, and Samsung, as well as heavy discounts on select Fire TV smart TVs.

2. Confirmed: Target’s early Black Friday sales, or “Circle Week,” happened October 1 – 7, 2023.

Target Circle Week is the name of the retailer’s early Black Friday Sale, and it’s happening now October 1 – 7, 2023. Similar to July’s Target Circle Week, you’ll see Circle offers like 30% off women’s pants and sweaters, 30% off Target Halloween costumes, and 20% off bath and bedding items. Also watch for gift ideas under $25, because Target is offering thousands of options.

Oh! And don’t miss the Target Deal of the Day program either. It’s back in 2023 with deep daily discounts on top brands like Apple, Nespresso, Dyson, and Nintendo. This will happen all the way through December.

Target’s holiday price match policy went into effect on October 22.

In 2023, any item you purchase from Target between Oct. 22 – Dec. 24, 2023, qualifies for a price adjustment if the Target price drops on or before Dec. 24.

3. Confirmed: Walmart Deals – Holiday Kickoff will run October 9 – 12, 2023.

This year, Walmart’s early Black Friday sale will run from Oct. 9 – 12, overlapping a bit with the Amazon Prime Day October sale.

This year, the sale is called Walmart Deals – Holiday Kickoff, and the retailer has already given us a sneak peek of what to expect. These deals aren’t live yet, but here are a few of the best deals I have seen so far. The sale starts at 7 p.m. ET on Oct. 9 and runs through Oct. 12.

Here are some of the leaked early Black Friday deals we’ve seen so far:

• Apple Watch SE 1st GEn, 40mm: $149 (regularly $320)
• HP Chrome 14″ FHD Laptop: $199 (regularly $249)
• Mega Barbie The Movie Dreamhouse: $139 (regularly $197.49)
• Crocs Unisex Crocband Clog: $49.99 ($29.99)

4. Confirmed: Ulta Gorgeous Hair Event started Oct. 1, 2023!

The Ulta Gorgeous Hair sale started on Oct. 1, and runs through Oct. 21. You’ll find lots of hair care products and gadgets on sale, including shampoos, conditioners, and styling tools. During this sale back in the spring, we saw 50% off brands like Redken, Living Proof, Pureology, and more.

Keep in mind that you can’t use coupons with this sale, and the item limit is four for each deal. Much of the sale is actually online only, but not all of it. The jumbo, liter-size products are excluded from the sale unless Ulta specifically says otherwise. And to save even more, Diamond and Platinum members get free shipping with a $10 beauty steal purchase.

We also saw the Ulta Beauty Fall Haul sale start on Sept. 22 and run through Sept. 30, and it was a great time to stock up on makeup and skincare.

5. Predicted: We often see a Best Buy Early Black Friday Sale around fall Prime Day.

For the past few years Best Buy has offered up Black Friday-esque pricing right around the time Amazon drops their fall Prime Day deals. In 2022, we saw deals running from Oct. 13 – 14 and then another Prep for the Holidays sale from Oct. 19 – 28, 2022.

Based on this year’s sale dates, we think you could see an early Black Friday sale from Best Buy on or around Oct. 12, 2023. And be on the lookout for another Holiday Prep sale on or around Oct. 18 – 27, 2023.

6. Predicted: Watch for Costco to drop early Black Friday deals on Oct. 30, 2023.

We saw Costco early Black Friday sales on Oct. 31, 2022. The early sale ended on Nov. 13, but then they dropped more Black Friday deals on Nov. 14 that ran through Black Friday in late November. They had $100 off a 7.5′ pre-lit Christmas tree, $90 off an iPad Mini, a $200 HP 14-Inch Chromebook Bundle, and $100 off the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 10.5-Inch Wi-Fi Tablet 64GB Bundle.

7. Predicted: Wayfair Way Day will possibly take place Oct. 25 – 26.

Wayfair’s Way Day sale shows up twice a year in April and October. Typically only two days, Way Day in April broke that streak and we saw it extended for a third day from April 26 – 28. Way Day is Wayfair’s biggest sale of the year with savings up to 80% on home decor and furniture. Check out these deals from last year to get an idea of what to expect in 2023:
