If you’ve ever bought Wipe Out! cleaning products, listen up: You’re likely entitled to a piece of the $2 million class action settlement.

These cleaning and disinfecting products were marketed by Tzumi Innovations with the intention of being safe and effective for surface disinfection. However, the class action lawsuit alleges that the marketing claims were misleading, leading consumers to believe the products were safe and legal to use as surface disinfectants in violation of state and federal law.

Although Tzumi has settled the class action lawsuit filed against them, they aren’t admitting any wrongdoing. Find out exactly what’s happening with this settlement, including how much you could get in a cash payment.

We’ve got plenty of other class action settlements listed on KCL so you can get the money that’s coming to ya.

You’re part of the Wipe Out settlement group if you bought certain products on or before April 19, 2023.

Basically if you’ve ever bought the following Wipe Out! products, you’re probably part of this settlement:

  • Wipe Out! Wipes
  • Wipe Out! Multi-Surface Wipes
  • Wipe Out! Multi-Surface Decontaminant Spray

If you bought them before April 19, 2023, you’ve got money coming your way.

You have to file a claim by July 18 to qualify for funds.

To submit a settlement claim, you will need to provide your contact information (name, address, email, phone number). You’ll also need to give the total number of Wipe Out! Products you purchased and whether you have proofs of purchase. If you have proofs of purchase, you may need to upload them as supporting documentation.

You can file online or via mail, but regardless, the deadline is July 18, 2023. (If you choose to mail the claim form, it must be postmarked by July 18, 2023.) The claim process and frequently asked questions can be found on the settlement website.

If you qualify for the Wipe Out settlement, you get paid $3 per product you bought (with proof).

You’ve gotta have proof of purchase to qualify for some of the $2 million Wipe Out payout. If you do, you qualify for a $3 cash payment per Wipe Out product — up to $15 total.

If you don’t have proof, you can still submit a claim and get $2 per purchased product — up to $6 total.

That said, the payout estimates are based on Wipe Out’s best guess for how many people will be filing claims; the final amount everybody receives could vary based on the number of claims. If the total claims and expenses are lower than the settlement fund, class members may receive increased payments on a pro rata basis, with a maximum increase of $50 for those with proof of purchase and $25 for those without.

You’ll most likely get paid by the end of September.

If you’re eligible and submit a valid claim, Wipe Out! will make the settlement payments to you within 30 days after the settlement’s final court approval — which is currently scheduled for August 28, 2023.

That means you’d get paid by the end of September. Keep in mind that if there’s an appeal, it might slow things down a bit. So, hang in there, and you’ll get your payment before you know it!
