Workout clothes are a necessity if your New Year’s resolution is to get in shape, but they can get expensive—especially if you want high-quality items that last through your grueling workouts! So what's my key to saving money? Multitasking! Buy workout attire that doubles as another piece of clothing. Although you might pay a little more upfront, this trick can save you as much as 50% in the long run because you don't have to buy separate articles of clothing. Here are my favorites:
- Tank top with built-in sports bra. You can find tons of sports tanks with built-in sports bras on Amazon for under $30. Considering that a descent sports bra can cost $30 by itself, a multitasking tank top can reduce your costs by half!
- Exercise jacket with removable sleeves. Buy a lightweight jacket with removable sleeves like this one for under $40. Because the sleeves are removable, the jacket can easily turn into a hiking vest.
- Hiking pants that convert into shorts. Buy a pair of pants like these—the legs can easily be rolled up to create capris or completely zipped off for instant shorts. That's like three different pieces of clothing in one!
