With frequent sales and free Prime shipping, shopping for beauty products on Amazon is one of the best ways to save on effective skincare. One best-selling product I always see on sale (sometimes up to 60% off) as a beauty writer is the QRxLabs Glycolic Acid Pads, which is like an elevated version of the drugstore peel pads I swore by as a teenager. Only, instead of stripping my skin of its natural oils in the name of exfoliation, these pads promise to “slough off dry skin while also replenishing with nourishing ingredients.” But does it work?

With 4.4 stars from over 18,000 Amazon customers, the glycolic acid peel pads caught my attention and I knew I had to give them a try. So, I did. Now I’m going to tell you if they’re actually worth the hype and the cost. Make sure to text HACKS to 57299 for more more-saving tips.

QRxLabs Glycolic Acid Pads help to remove dry, dead skin from your face.

To justify the price of skincare products, I always look at the ingredients and their concentration levels. What stands out to me about the QRxLabs Glycolic Acid 20% Resurfacing Pads is:

  1. There’s 20% glycolic acid, which removes dead skin cells and address texture concerns
  2. The product includes nourishing and hydrating ingredients like green tea, calendula, and allantoin (which you want after sloughing away the gross stuff).

The suggested retail price of QRxLabs Glycolic Acid Pads is $49.99, but you should never, ever pay that much.

Although $49.99 is a tad high and comes out to just under $1 per pad for a 50 ct. jar, these peel pads often go on sale. I have seen them for as low as $19.99 on Amazon, which is around $0.40 per pad. That’s well worth it, in my opinion, for the formula and results. Compare them to similar products, such as the Dr. Zenovia Skincare 10% Glycolic Acne Control Peel Pads, which only include 10% glycolic acid and come out to around $0.70 per pad. Or, the Peter Thomas Roth Even Smoother™ Glycolic Retinol Resurfacing Peel Pads, which have retinol and, therefore, isn’t as gentle for all skin types (and costs around $0.87 per pad). The QRxLabs Glycolic Acid 20% Resurfacing Pads are a far better value, especially when purchased on sale.

You can also Subscribe & Save to save an extra 5% to 10% if you actually end up liking the QRxLabs pads, too.

In my experience, yes, they work.

A before and after shot of a person who started using Glycolic acid pads

After ordering the peel pads on Amazon, I committed to two weeks of testing to get a really good idea of how well the pads work on my skin. The directions recommend using them once daily. Since I live in Los Angeles and end up in the sun a lot, I decided to use them at night as a precaution against sun sensitivity.

The first night I tried these out, I immediately noticed a difference in my skin’s texture. I really noticed a smoother surface in the first go-round.

While the formula felt tingly (especially the first time I tried it), it didn’t have a burning sensation. The tingle quickly wore off once the formula was fully absorbed into my skin. With regular use, I notice that my skin feels freshly exfoliated without feeling dry or irritated.

And though I didn’t notice any significant anti-aging results in the two-week time frame (dangit), the regular exfoliation left my skin looking brighter. By removing dead skin cell buildup, I noticed they also helped my skin to better drink up the serums and moisturizers.
