Target is issuing a recall of weighted blankets that pose an asphyxiation hazard to small children. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Target recalled 204,000 Pillowfort Weighted Blankets following the death of two young girls in April 2022 in Camp LeJeune, North Carolina. If you think the Target weighted blanket recall affects your household, we have information regarding how to proceed below.

According to reports, the girls, ages 4 and 6, became trapped in the blanket’s cover, which is removable with a zipper, and died from asphyxiation. There have been two other separate reports of injuries from the product; however, thankfully, no other fatalities have been reported.

If you purchased a Pillowfort Weighted Blanket between December 2018 and September 2022, it’s important to heed the information in the recall.
