I love the fall weather, but it definitely means things are going to get crazy with Halloween, Thanksgiving and then preparing for Christmas!  When I need to chill out, one of my favorite things to do is relax in a nice bath with a homemade face mask, preferably one with ingredients both inexpensive and beneficial for my skin.  This recipe delivers on both fronts.

Nutmeg and honey will help soothe inflammation and prevent infection while the cinnamon and nutmeg will exfoliate your skin when you rinse off the mask. Plus, it just smells delicious. (Remember to do a patch test before slathering it all over your face.  Skin can be finicky sometimes, and it's better to be safe than ugly.)

The Recipe:

  • 2 Tablespoons Honey
  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 Teaspoon Nutmeg

Mix all ingredients into a paste and apply to your face. Let it sit for thirty minutes. (During this 30 minutes, sip your favorite beverage, read a magazine, think about the money you’re saving, and hope that your kids will be in bed by the time you get out!)  Rinse off the mask, gently scrubbing your skin to exfoliate and soften.
