There’s a high-value ExtraBucks promotion available on Venus personal care items this week at CVS. You’ll receive $10 ExtraBucks when you spend $30. This works perfectly on the Venus Gentle Trimmer for Pubic Hair and Skin, which is regularly priced at $29.99 at my local store. Even though that’s just below the $30 spend threshold, it’ll trigger the ExtraBucks thanks to the CVS 98% rule. No coupons are needed to pick up a Venus trimmer for just $19.99.

If you do have a store coupon that’ll work on this deal, however, you can score an even better final price. I have one for 40% off any regular priced item. This is a great product to use it on, since it’s not on sale but does have a high-value ExtraBucks promotion attached. If you have the same store coupon, use it to pay just $7.99 for a Venus trimmer. That’s significantly less than the $29.97 this trimmer is currently going for on Amazon. If you’re on the fence about whether to buy it, it does have a 4.5-star average out of over 20,000 reviews on Amazon right now.

As I mentioned, you’ll receive the ExtraBucks even though you’ll be spending below the $30 spend threshold because of a cool feature CVS has called the 98% rule. It just means you have to spend 98% of a spend threshold in order to receive the ExtraBucks. In this case, 98% of $30 is $29.40, so spending $29.99 will more than satisfy the requirement. Your mileage may vary on whether your store participates in the 98% rule, but it’s my understanding that the majority do. Something else to be aware of is that the 98% rule doesn’t work online.

As always, store coupons may var by user. If you don’t have this particular store coupon, you may have something else that’ll work. Don’t worry — you just have to hit a spend threshold before any manufacturer or store coupons are applied. Learn more about how to coupon at CVS.
