Costco members can snag this Yankee Candle 6-Pack Candle Set for just $19.99. Each candle is 4.1 ounces and comes with a tin lid. The set includes these scents: pink sands, bayside cedar, macintosh, coconut beach, sage and citrus, and amber and sandalwood. Please note that this is an in-warehouse-only deal.

Taking care of your candles is really more of an art than a science, and it’s all about the little details. So let’s dive right in.

First things first, you’ll want to make sure to trim the wick before each burn. Keeping it to about a 1/4 inch is ideal. Why, you ask? Well, long or crooked wicks can cause a whole range of issues, from uneven burning and dripping to flaring. You can use just about anything to trim it — a wick trimmer, scissors, even a nail clipper.

Now, when you light that candle for the first time, make sure you’ve got some time on your hands. You’ll want to let it burn until the wax melts all the way to the edge of the container. This is what we call a “full melt pool” and it’s key in preventing “tunneling”. Tunneling is when only the center of the candle burns down, leaving a ring of unmelted wax along the container’s sides. Not what you want, trust me.

And while we’re on the topic of burning, always remember to keep the wax pool clean. All this debris can act as a secondary wick, causing the candle to burn faster and unevenly.
