Rite Aid Gift Cards

Rite Aid isn't just a drugstore we like to use coupons at, it's a gift card savings superstore where you can get up to 20% off on gift cards from big-name retailers, restaurants, services and more using BonusCash promotions. Once you know everything about Rite Aid gift cards, you may never buy them anywhere else again.

Buying Rite Aid gift cards during BonusCash rewards events is like saving up to 20%.

BonusCash rewards are like in-store credits that can be used on almost anything in Rite Aid stores and online at RiteAid.com. To earn BonusCash rewards, you must be signed up for Rite Aid's free loyalty program, wellness+ Rewards. Any BonusCash you earn, will automatically be loaded onto your wellness+ account and can be used by 6:00 a.m. the day after you earn them. BonusCash expires after 60 days.

Often, Rite Aid will run promotions on retailer gift card purchases like, "Earn $5 BonusCash when you buy $25 of these items." That's like saving 20% on the face value of a gift card!

BonusCash rewards offers vary. Sometimes Rite Aid will only give you a few brands to choose from, and other times they'll run "Mix and Match" gift card offers where you pick from several retailers. For instance, "Buy $100 in Southwest and Hotels.com gift cards, earn $20 BonusCash," or "Spend $14.99 on Xbox Game Passes, earn $5 BonusCash."

Also, you can't earn BonusCash by purchasing Rite Aid brand gift cards; you'll only earn by purchasing other retailer gift cards.

The best gift card BonusCash offers happen around Black Friday.

Look for gift card promotions in late November and early December — just in time for holiday gift-giving. You won't want to wait until the very last minute, though; we didn't see any Rite Aid gift card offers at all the week before and after Christmas last year.

Some of the promotions we see around Black Friday include:

Retailer Gift Cards

  • Spend $100, receive $8-$12 BonusCash

  • Spend $50, receive $8-$10 BonusCash

  • Spend $25, receive $5 BonusCash

Visa Gift Cards

  • Buy 3 at $20+ each, receive $12 BonusCash

American Express Gift Cards

  • Buy 2 at $25 each, receive $6 BonusCash

Rite Aid weekly ad with a gift card promotion

A few times a year, Rite Aid will run a free gift card promotion when you spend a certain amount on specified products. For instance, "Get a $20 Visa rewards card when you buy $50 of select items," or "Earn a $10 Rite Aid gift card when you spend $50 on select beauty products."

During these promotions, you don't have to meet the spend threshold all in one trip. Wellness+ members can meet the amount needed for a free gift card over several transactions during the promotion period.

You can also use coupons for individual items in conjunction with these offers. Best part? You only have to reach the threshold before coupons are applied. This means you'll pay even less out of pocket!

Once you spend the required amount for a free Visa gift card, you'll receive a code on your receipt that must be entered in online. You'll then receive a physical Visa gift card in the mail. For free Rite Aid gift card promotions, you'll receive a code on your receipt, but the cashier can load the earned balance onto a gift card right away.

Can I buy Rite Aid gift cards online?

Unfortunately, no. You must go in store to buy any gift cards at Rite Aid.

Find your local Rite Aid.

Can I use Rite Aid gift cards online?

Nope, can't do that either. Actual Rite Aid gift cards — not other retailer gift cards Rite Aid sells — aren't redeemable for online purchases.

You also can't reload them or use Rite Aid gift cards to buy lottery tickets, money orders or other gift cards.

How do I check my Rite Aid gift card balance?

You can check your balance 24/7 on RiteAid.com using the number on the back of your gift card.
