When it comes to feeding our kids, we want to give them the best possible start in life, and that includes the food they eat. Organic foods, in particular, garner a lot of attention because these ingredients are grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, or other yucky stuff. This means they are less likely to contain harmful residues that could have a negative impact on our children’s bodies. Gerber has a growing line of organic food items that appeal to parents for this very reason, not to mention it’s a brand most of us grew up with and can identify with.
That said, all you have to do is walk the aisles of any grocery store and you’ll quickly associate “organic” with “more expensive.” And, hey, you’re not wrong. Fortunately, there are still ways to get your hands on Gerber Organics baby food while staying on budget. Yes, you’ll have to look out for sales (especially once your kid feasts their eyes on the Gerber Banana Strawberry Organic Yogurt Melts), but the deal-finding legwork is worth it. Plus, we’re giving you a head start on how to find deals below.

Attention Walmart shoppers: save money on Gerber Organics baby food right now.
If you do most of your shopping at Walmart, there are Gerber Organics deals to be had. Although Walmart doesn’t offer coupons, we earned $1.50 in Walmart Rewards when we bought three of the following Gerber Organics products. Plus, we submitted our receipt for another $2 cash back off five Gerber Organics products with Coupons.com. So, yes, in total we had to buy five products to fulfill the requirements for both deals.
First, a little about the products in our Gerber Organics Walmart haul:
Gerber Organic Lil’ Crunchies White Cheddar Broccoli, 1.59-Ounce Can
Packed with protein and fiber from real navy beans, (Walmart, $2.98), these plant-based, bite-sized snacks are easy for small hands to grab. They come in a resealable container to preserve their freshness, which is especially helpful if you want to avoid them spilling all over your diaper bag.
“Our little girl loves Lil Crunchies! Now that she has more teeth to chew foods with, she’s all about the textures and particularly loves these snacks!” — Walmart reviewer.
Gerber Organic Oatmeal Banana Cereal, 8-Ounce Canister
This banana-flavored oatmeal, (Walmart, $4) is the perfect addition to your toddler’s menu. It contains real fruit and grains and has no artificial colors or flavors, so you can feel good about feeding them a nutritious (but easy) breakfast.
“My daughter absolutely loves this cereal! She is mainly a breast feeding baby but we have started her on this cereal and she goes crazy for it! Definitely recommend — Walmart reviewer.
Gerber Banana Strawberry Organic Yogurt Melts, 1-Ounce Bag
Let your baby learn how to self feed with these organic yogurt melts (Walmart $3.98). Made with real fruit and no artificial anything, these snacks are healthy and nutritious. Plus, their meltable texture makes chewing and swallowing easier for babies transitioning to solid foods.
“My son is 15 months old and could NOT stop eating these! He would throw a fit when I put them away! He finished the whole bag within 3-4 days! Not going to lie I tried one and they are very good lol, highly recommend!” — Walmart reviewer.

Target can be a savings bullseye, if you play your RedCard (and coupons) right.
Look for Target Circle offers, like 10% off baby food, and stack with 5% savings when you pay with your Target RedCard. Also, don’t forget to check Gerber.com for promotional coupons that can score you cash back savings via PayPal (more on that below).
Gerber Organic Banana Cereal, 8-Ounce Canister
The Gerber Organic Banana Cereal (Target, $4.59) rings in a bit higher at Target, as compared to Walmart, where the same size canister was $0.59 less.
“My son loves this cereal for breakfast, mixed with banana and formula. After consulting with his pediatrician; I feel comfortable feeding him this cereal.” — Target reviewer.
Gerber Organic Lil’ Crunchies White Bean Hummus, 1.59-Ounce Can
Currently the Gerber Organic Lil’ Crunches (Target, $3.49) are also priced a bit more, though if you use your Target RedCard alone you can get that price down to $3.32. That brings the two prices a bit closer together, though will still cost you more here unless you can find other aforementioned deals.
“My daughter loves these and they actually taste pretty good to me (as the adult taste tester, lol). I wish they came in packs or variety packs with the other flavor though.” — Target reviewer.
Gerber Plant-tastic Organic Pouch Banana Berry & Veggie Smash, 3.5-Ounce Pouch
Once your kid starts eating solids, having these organic pouches (Target, $1.79) in your diaper bag at all times can be a true mealtime life-saver.
“My kids always love the snack pouches and even as an adult, I enjoy them as well. This is the first plant-based protein snack pouch we’ve tried and we love it.” — Target reviewer.
Here’s how Gerber Organics stacks up against other organic baby food brands by price:
If you look across the board at their organic baby food competitors, Gerber Organics is comparable in price, if not the best value in the category.
Take, for example, what we’ve seen at Target in Southern California. As we mentioned above, you can grab the Gerber Plant-tastic Organic Pouch Banana Berry & Veggie Smash, 3.5-ounce Pouch for $1.79 each. Earth’s Best Organic Apple Peach Oatmeal, however, rings up at $1.99, also for a 3.5-ounce pouch.
Now, admittedly, over at Walmart where that 8-ounce canister of Gerber Organic Oatmeal Banana Cereal is $4, you can get an Earth’s Best Organic Baby Oatmeal Cereal (8 oz box) for less at $3.48. However, this isn’t exactly comparing apples to apples, as the Gerber cereal is a Stage 2 food and the Earth’s Best variety is for Stage 1 eaters.

In an effort to make sure all families have access to nutritional foods, there’s a special government program, WIC, providing federal grants for low-income women, infants, and children under 5. WIC runs nationwide, serving half of all infants born in the U.S.. While you’ll need to check for eligibility of Gerber Organic products with your state’s WIC program, we found several that are often included in the program:
- Gerber Organic Carrot (1st Foods)
- Gerber Organic Banana (1st Foods)
- Gerber Organic Pear Purple Carrot Raspberry (2nd Foods)
