Need a desk with ample storage that doesn’t take up a lot of space? Are your old bookshelves and re-purposed wood table not cutting it as your makeshift home office?  Check out the deals below!

The Crate & Barrel Sloane espresso leaning desk is on sale for $399 (reg $447). It answers the space and storage issue in one sweep. Overstock sells a similar 3-piece leaning ladder bookshelf and desk for $215.99. That’s a savings of $183.01! The only design difference between the two desks is that the Crate & Barrel desk has additional slats across the top and bottom to  give it a “capped” look; the Overstock desk is more like an open ladder.

Naturally, you’ll need a new chair to go with your new desk.  I find the oversized, dark leather chairs of the corporate world a little ostentatious for my taste! The Crate & Barrel Haworth Task Chair costs a jaw-dropping $999.00.  Luckily Overstock has a comparable chair, which I actually prefer, the Safco Flaunt White Polyurethane Leather Manager’s Chair for $203.99.  That’s a whopping 79.6% savings!

A new desk and chair from Crate & Barrel would cost $1398.00. The Overstock options would cost $419.98. By choosing Overstock for the new furniture, I will save $978.02! Maybe I can use the money saved to invest in a new laptop (as long as it’s white, to match my chair!)
