Technically, we celebrate the best coupons and money-saving offers every day at KCL. But September is when we officially honor the coupon and its journey over the years from a casual hobby to a mainstream necessity during National Coupon Month 2025, running Sept. 1 - 30.
Thanks to our 2025 State of Couponing Survey, we know that 40% of people now rely on coupons to buy essentials in the current economy. So all month long, we'll be sharing our favorite ways to maximize coupons for newbies and pros alike.
To make sure you don't miss out on any of the National Coupon Month fun, make sure to download our free KCL app and follow us on TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram.
National Coupon Month is a month-long celebration of the coupon and our expert-tested shopping techniques.
National Coupon Month is all about education with amazing daily deals along the way. We like to think that anyone can coupon with the right tips and tools. Every week of the month, we'll break down the couponing techniques that our own deal hunters have tried and tested over the years since KCL was founded in 2009. Whether you're starting from scratch or looking to fine-tune your tactics, we'll have a little something for everyone.
National Coupon Month is in September because it's right at the intersection of back-to-school expenses and holiday planning. It's a time when learning how to stack coupons, mastering digital couponing tools, and stockpiling the basics can really make a difference in family budgets (especially with tariffs pushing up prices).
National Coupon Month runs Sept. 1 - 30.

This year (2025) marks the first annual National Coupon Month, and it'll kick off Sept. 1 every year. Each week has a theme, so you can start with the basics and then level up as you're ready.
Week 1 (Sept. 1 - 7): Kickoff Week
This week is all about mastering the basics of couponing. We'll have a glossary of the most confusing coupon terms and abbreviations, a checklist for your first couponing trip, and a guide to all the best places to find coupons.
We'll also point you toward stores that are known to be friendly to couponers, like CVS and Walgreens.
Week 2 (Sept. 8 - 14): Insider Secrets
This week, we'll be shedding light on some lesser-known aspects of couponing and things that even longtime couponers may overlook. Think rain checks, price matching, and the Sunday coupon insert schedule (yes, newspaper coupon inserts are still a thing). We'll also take a look at couponing fine print so you can avoid awkward coupon rejections at checkout.
Week 3 (Sept. 15 - 21): Strategic Shopping
This is the week where you'll build on the basics. We'll show you how to use rebate apps (which pay you for taking pics of your receipts). And we'll share our picks for the stores with the best couponing policies.
Week 4 (Sept. 22 - 30): Mastery Week
This week is about fine-tuning your coupon strategy. We'll walk you through couponing with curbside pickup and how to get stuff for free with coupons. Plus, we'll introduce the couponing holy grail: moneymakers (using rewards and rebates to get back more than you spent).
