March Madness 2024: Food Deals, Freebies, & Discounts We Expect To See

March Madness is the biggest sporting event for Division I college basketball teams. Millions of fans cheer their team(s) on throughout the tournament which lasts three weeks in March and into April. Luckily, there are plenty of food holidays and food deals for everyone.

Since this year’s tournament is over, you might be wondering what food deals will be available for next year’s March Madness? While we don’t know the details yet, we’ll update this post as the tournament nears and the deals drop. Until then, here’s what we expect to see in 2024 based on what was offered in 2023.

March Madness takes place in March every year

Next year’s NCAA March Madness will run from March 16 through April 8, 2024. The term March Madness was first used in 1939, but wasn’t associated with the NCAA tournament (which started in 1939) until sportscaster Brent Musberger mentioned it on air in 1985. In total, 64 teams play in the women’s tournament, while 68 men’s teams will play in next year’s March Madness. Here are the 2024 dates for each round in the men’s tournament:

  • First Four: March 19 – 20, 2024 (Dayton, Ohio)
  • First/Second Rounds: March 21 – 23, 2024 (Charlotte, NC., Omaha, NE., Pittsburgh, PA., Salt Lake City, UT)
  • First/Second Rounds: March 22 – 24, 2024 (Brooklyn, N.Y., Indianapolis, Ind., Spokane, WA., Memphis, TN.)
  • East Regional: March 28 – 30, 2024 (Boston, MA.)
  • West Regional: March 28 – 30, 2024 (Los Angeles, CA.)
  • South Regional: March 29/31, 2024 (Dallas, TX.)
  • Midwest Regional: March 29/31, 2024 (Detroit, MI.)
  • Final Four/Championship: April 6/8, 2024 (Glendale, AZ.)

 

March Madness Freebies, Deals & Discounts

7-Eleven: Get a large pizza and five wings for $10 during March Madness.

During March Madness 2023, you could get a large pizza (regularly $5.50) and five wings (priced at $8.95) for only $10 at 7-Eleven, both in person and through the 7NOW app. That’s a 30.8% discount.

 

Auntie Anne’s: Enjoy zero delivery fees on tournament days.

In 2023, there was no delivery fee on any Auntie Anne’s order on tournament days during March Madness. This deal was only available through Auntie Anne’s app or website. Auntie Anne’s Rewards members could also score a free pretzel (regularly $3.66) if they visited twice between March 9 and April 5.

 

Buffalo Wild Wings: Grab six free wings when a game goes into overtime.

Buffalo Wild Wings Rewards members could get six free wings (regularly $9.29) during March Madness 2023 anytime a game went into overtime if you logged on to your Blazin’ Rewards account or placed an online order the same day the game goes into overtime. The coupon for the free wings was sent to members’ account the next day.

Casey’s: Play the Match-Up game during March Madness for a chance to win freebies.

Casey’s Rewards members got to play the Match-Up game for a chance to win freebies every day from March 1 to April 7, 2023. Here’s were the prizes:

  • 20-ounce water (value $0.99)
  • Creme Cookies (value $1.29)
  • Snack Bar (value $1.19)
  • Small Chips (value $1.99)
  • Nuts (value $2.59)

 

KFC: Enjoy an 8-piece bucket for $10.

KFC offered a great deal during March Madness — an 8-piece bucket of fried chicken for only $10. You could choose between their Variety Bucket (two drums, two thighs, two breasts, and two wings) or dark meat Drum & Thigh Bucket (four drums and four thighs). This bucket usually costs $14.99, so you would have saved 33.2% with this deal. Limit one per order.

There are plenty of ways to unlock the KFC menu for cheaper chicken.

 

Qdoba: Earn double rewards on your orders during March Madness.

Qdoba Rewards members earned double rewards points on orders made from March 12 – April 3, 2023.

Ruby Tuesday: Get BOGO wings with in-app or online orders and promo code.

You could get BOGO wings when you placed an order in the Ruby Tuesday app or website and used the promo code BASKETBALL during checkout. This code was only available from 4 p.m. to close on April 3, 2023.

 

Schlotzsky’s: Enjoy free delivery every weekend during March Madness.

Schlotzsky’s offered free delivery every weekend from Feb. 4 to April 30, 2023. This discount automatically applied when you checked out using the Schlotzsky’s app or website.

 

Smashburger: Get BOGO free wings with promo code.

You could get BOGO free wings from Smashburger when you used the code MADWINGS during checkout online or in the app from March 16 – 19, March 23 – 26, and April 1 – 3, 2023.

 

Subway: Get subs BOGO 50% with promo code during March Madness.

Subway had a buy one Subway footlong and get one 50% off deal that ran from March 1 – April 30, 2023. Note, you had to use the promo code BOGO50 during checkout online or through the Subway app to get this deal. The offer excluded the Footlong Pro.

TGI Fridays: Save 25% off platters, party trays, and family meal bundles.
